  • Beijing's Qianjin Prison Torture Mr. Wu Yinchang in Attempt to Force Him to Renounce Falun Gong

Mr. Wu Yinchang, a pharmacist who worked at the Xiyuan Hospital of the Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine, was born in 1966 and began practicing Falun Gong in 1996. He was illegally sentenced to one year of detention in Tuanhe Forced Labor Camp in 2001, and was unreasonably dismissed by the Xiyuan Hospital of the Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 2002. In November of 2002, Mr. Wu was once again arrested for mailing truth-clarification videos, and was sentenced to seven years of imprisonment. He was jailed in the 12th Ward of Beijing's Qianjin Prison on January 8, 2004 and was then transferred to the 9th Ward. When Wu Yinchang was on trial, his father-in-law passed away under the heavy stress, and his mother-in-law was paralyzed in bed without the ability to take care of herself. All of the family burdens fell on the shoulders of his wife, who was also parenting their three-year-old son.

When Wu Yinchang was imprisoned in the 12th Ward, he was locked in a "small cell" several times for his refusal to give up Falun Gong. Several inmates were assigned to monitor him. Every day his sleep was totally under the control of these monitors. When they thought he was controllable one day, they might let him sleep for three to four hours, and when they felt he was "unpleasing to the eye" on another day, they would wake him up as soon as he fell asleep. The persecutors use these methods to torture practitioners; outsiders can see no signs of abuse on the surface, but this mental torture can cause a person to suffer a mental collapse.

Mr. Wu was usually only allowed to sleep for one or two hours every day. He was often beaten and verbally abused. He was forbidden from bathing, was restricted in relieving himself and forced to sit on a board for long periods of time. He was frequently locked in the dark "small cell" for one to two months, or even longer. Due to the inhuman torture, Wu Yinchang was in poor health and became very thin and weak. But his situation never got any sympathy from the guards or the monitors. In October of 2004, Chen Jun, the political head of the 12th Ward, beat Wu Yinchang so brutally that he passed out.

On August 9, 2005, because he refused to give in and renounce Falun Gong, Wu Yinchang was transferred to the 9th Ward, which was even more vicious. The political instructor of the ward at that time was Cao Lihua. Mr. Wu was also locked in the "small cell" frequently in the 9th Ward. From September of 2005 to April of 2006, because he was steadfast in his belief in Falun Gong, Mr. Wu was deprived of the privilege of monthly visits with family members and calling home. Apart from a brief one-time visit with his wife and son in April of 2006, he was consistently forbidden to visit with his wife, who is also a Falun Gong practitioner. They even posted slanderous statements about Wu Yinchang and his wife on the wall of the visitors' office.

Wu Yinchang's family members went to the Beijing Prison Management Bureau and other relevant organizations repeatedly to appeal. The Procuratorial Division of Qinghe District Police Department and the Procuratorial Section of Qianjin Prison denied their abuse of Wu Yinchang and claimed that it was Wu Yinchang who beat others. Furthermore, the policemen from the Police Department in the Haidian District of Beijing kept harassing Mr. Wu's wife, threatening: "All the materials about you are in our hands...". Wu Yinchang has a very good reputation at his workplace and among his relatives and neighbors. The defamatory statement from the prison management organizations enraged many of his friends and relatives, including his relatives abroad.

After his family members' persistent appeals to the Prison Management Bureau, Qianjin Prison had to allow for Wu Yinchang's monthly visit from his family members. Nevertheless, the prison authorities still created great difficulties for Wu Yinchang. They blocked the scheduled visits many times, and forbade the visit until all the other visits were over; the excuse being they were showing "concern for his family members." After the visit the shuttle bus taking the visiting family members home was no longer available (Qianjin Prison is in the suburb of Tianjin and far away from Beijing ), so the family members had to return to Beijing at their own expense. In addition, the guards stood close to Wu Yinchang and his family members during the visit, monitoring their conversation.

From June to July of 2006, with all four of his limbs shackled, Mr. Wu was forced to sit on the concrete ground continuously without sleeping for over 10 days. On the following several days he could only sleep for a little while and was beaten and cursed by the monitors frequently. He also had to ask for permission when he needed to relieve himself. After those 10 days, his wrists and ankles were all bruised and his buttocks were blistered from sitting. Every time the family members visited him they saw new injuries on his body from beatings by the monitors. Sometimes they saw him trembling during the visit, and sometimes they found him unable to walk. Whenever the talk touched upon the persecution, the guard on duty would immediately stop them. When the family members went to question the political head of the 9th Ward, the reply was: "It is not wrong to treat him like that. It is all due to his stubbornness..."

The Severe Persecution of Falun Gong Practitioners at Jidong Prison in Tangshan City, Hebei Province

Jidong Prison is located in Fengnan District of Tangshan City. Located far away from other towns, it is a concentration camp that detains and persecutes Falun Gong practitioners.

The practitioners are jailed separately. Some teams only have one practitioner. Every practitioner is monitored by four to six prisoners. Due to lack of transportation, some practitioners have not seen their family members for years. The persecutors are using the geographical conditions to cover up their crimes. In recent years, some of the facts have been exposed.

The prison authorities uses many cruel ways to "reform" Falun Gong practitioners. For example, they shock them with electric batons, make them stand under the baking sun, beat them, and detain practitioners in a pitch dark room for several months on end. They instigate other prisoners to attack and beat Falun Gong practitioners. They threaten to beat practitioners to death. They do not allow some practitioners to sleep for long periods of time. Many collaborators were asked to come and "reform" Falun Gong practitioners with brainwashing and torture.

Recently, the Politics and Law Committee and the Administration Bureau of the province have been regularly visiting the prison to conduct "inspections." They give orders to persecute Falun Gong practitioners continually. Falun Gong practitioner Bian Zhongxue has been on a hunger strike for almost five months. His health condition is very poor. The prison authorities force-feed him every day. Bian Xuezhong's current condition is said to be critical.

Since the CCP Political and Legal Committee and the Administration Bureau of the province gave their orders, the Jidong Prison has intensified their abuse of practitioners. Practitioner Bi Xiuzhan has been sent to the strict control team three times recently. Some of the prisoners have learned that Falun Dafa is good and started to practice. After the persecutors discovered this, these prisoners were also sent to the strict control team and were beaten there. They were forced to stand in the cold wind for several hours.

Falun Gong Practitioner in Finland: The Chinese Communist Party Arrested My Mother Xie Yuqing Again

My mother Xie Yuqing is a Falun Gong practitioner. She is 65 years old. She lived in Changchun City, Jilin Province and now lives on Fengyang Road in Sujiatun District, Shenyang City, Liaoning Province. She never came back home after she went out at around 9:00 p.m. on January 18, 2007. She has been missing for over 10 days. From the information I obtained, she was most likely arrested again.

Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Xie Yuqing from Shenyang City

In March 2003, my mother was illegally arrested for practicing Falun Gong, and she was sentenced to one year in a labor camp. Then, my house was unlawfully ransacked. The warrant was issued four days after the arrest.

After her release, my mother moved to Fengyang Road in Sujiatun District, Shenyang City, Liaoning Province to avoid persecution. On the morning of January 19, 2007, my fourth aunt, who lives in Changchun City, said that three policemen, claiming to be from the Shenyang Police Station, came to Changchun City to ask her about my mother. They did not say why they wanted information about her.

My aunt's family members said there were strange phone calls constantly asking if Xie Yuqing lived there two or three days before my mother went missing.

Apparently, the Chinese Communist Party has arrested my mother again. To this day, my family members still have not heard anything about her whereabouts or condition.

The Persecution Suffered by Mr. Zhang Yanqing and Mrs. Gao Yanqing of Hebei Province

[Note: The following is a shortened version of a longer and more detailed article that appeared on the Minghui website (Chinese version of Clearwisdom.net).]

Mr. Zhang Yanqing and Mrs. Gao Yanqing are Falun Gong practitioners from Fengshengzhuang Village of Baigou Town, Beidian City, Hebei Province. Mr. Zhang Yanqing is 36 years old, and his wife Mrs. Gao Yanqing is 38 years old.

On the night of December 23, 2000, Mr. Zhang Guoqiang, the former Head of the Yihezhuang Village local police station, led a group of thugs that arrested and took Mr. Zhang Yanqing to the brainwashing center located in the Shooting Range of Gaobeidian City. Mr. Zhang Yanqing came under attack every day. He was locked up there for 11 days. He was not released until policeman Zhao Kejun succeeded in extorting 5,000 yuan from his family.

The police frequently harassed Mr. Zhang Yanqing's family and confiscated property from their home. On the morning of January 22, 2002, Zhang Yanqing was arrested by four policemen from the Yihezhuang Village local police station and taken to the Shooting Range in Gaobei City for persecution. He was not released until February 9. Again, they extorted his family out of more than 7,000 yuan to obtain his release.

On the morning of July 18, 2002, Wang Tiegang, Wang Zhanchao and another policeman from the Baigou Police Sub-bureau arrested Mr. Zhang Yanqing and brought him to the Yihezhuang Village local police station. That afternoon, Mr. Zhang Yanqing was able to escape. From then on, he was compelled to leave home and go from place to place to avoid further persecution.

On August 29, 2002, Mrs. Gao Yanqing was arrested and taken to the Baigoudong local police station. That afternoon she was transferred to the Baigou Police Sub-bureau. The next day they dragged her back to the Yihezhuang local police station. Mrs. Gao Yanqing was imprisoned there for 11 days.

On the morning of September 27, 2002, police officer Wang Tiegang and another person from the Baigou Police Sub-bureau brought Mrs. Gao Yanqing once again to the local police station. The next day (on the 28th), the police sent her to the brainwashing center located in the Shooting Range of Gaobeidian City.

On October 7, 2002, Mr. Zhang Yanqing was arrested by Sushui Criminal Police Team. In the station, he was beaten until his body was covered with bruises. Eight Falun Gong practitioners were mercilessly beaten and tortured in Sushui Criminal Police Team's station at that time.

On October 18, 2002, the police took Mrs. Gao Yanqing from the Shooting Range to the Zhuozhou Legal System Educational Base for further brainwashing. On October 31, she was returned to the Gaobeidian Shooting Range. All together, she was imprisoned for two months. On November 27, 610 office policeman Zhao Kejun and his group extorted Mrs. Gao Yanqing out of 2,000 yuan before they let her go.

On April 18, 2003, policemen Wang Tiegang, Liu Zhihua and two others barged into Mrs. Gao Yanqing's home and confiscated her family's personal belongings. Mrs. Gao Yanqing was able to get away, but she was forced to leave home and go from place to place for a year to avoid further persecution.

On October 8, 2003, Mr. Zhang Yanqing was secretly sentenced to 13 years in jail by the Xushui County court of Hebei Province. He was imprisoned in the First Jail of Baoding, Hebei Province. In the Baoding First Jail, Mr. Zhang Yanqing remains steadfast in his faith in Falun Gong, despite brutal persecution. On April 26, 2004, Mr. Zhang Yanqing was tortured repeatedly, to the brink of death.

Ms. Jia Naizhi and Other Falun Gong Practitioners Persecuted in Shenyang Prison in Liaoning Province

Several Falun Gong practitioners including Jia Naizhi, He Lizhong, Liu Chengyan and Lu Yan were illegally sentenced to prison after being abducted by police. The prison refused to accept them, as they had already been tortured quite badly. They were sent to the Second Detention Center in Fushun City and have been detained there since then. Some of these practitioners have been imprisoned for over four years. The detention center, on the other hand, claims that it does not have the right to release the practitioners and that it needs permission from the People's Procuratorate. However, the People's Procuratorate refused on the grounds that these Falun Gong practitioners are "activists." Recently, these practitioners were transferred to the Shenyang Prison.

Persecution of Jia Naizhi, He Lizhong, Liu Chengyan and Lu Yan:

Ms. Jia Naizhi, 54 years old, was abducted on October 11, 2002 and imprisoned in the Fushun Detention Center. In July 2003, with no trial or hearing, she was sentenced to ten years in prison. After being persecuted severely, she contracted several acute diseases and was rejected by the Liaoning Female Prison. Jia was then sent to the Second Detention Center of Fushun City for long-term imprisonment. She has been persecuted to the brink of death. She cannot eat anything without vomiting and relies on regular injections to sustain her life.

Ms. He Lizhong, 60 years old, is a Falun Gong practitioner from Fushun City, Liaoning Province. After being abducted by police in April 2004, Ms. He was tortured and persecuted. By August 2004, she could not move or walk, let alone attend the show trial. Several days later, the Fushun People's Court shamelessly conducted a show trial for Ms. He in the reception room of the Second Detention Center. The entire trial was scripted and went as planned. It concluded briefly and Ms. He was carried back to her cell. Ms. He has tried appealing, but it was ineffective and in the end, she was sentenced to nine years in prison. Ms. He has been imprisoned in the Second Detention Center in Fushun City for a long time. She has been tortured severely and now suffers low blood pressure, heart disease, and seizures. When she was brought to the Shenyang Prison, the facility rejected her due to her poor health. Her relatives were once asked to bail her out for medical treatment, and even paid 900 yuan; however, the detention center still refused to release Ms. He.

Ms. Liu Chengyan, 30 years old, is a Falun Gong practitioner from Wanghua District, Fushun City. In October 2002, she was abducted by police and sent to the Second Detention Center in Fushun City. In July 2003, she was persecuted until she became unconscious and was on the brink of death. On August 29, 2004, while being imprisoned, she went on a hunger strike for five weeks to resist the persecution. Her health deteriorated, but even then the detention center refused to release her.

Mr. Lu Yan and four other Falun Gong practitioners were abducted by a dozen policemen around 5 p.m. on March 15, 2005. These practitioners were at Lu's home when police from Fushun Police Department broke in. Lu refused to submit to the police's demands, so four officers brutally assaulted him. He was hung up and shocked with electric batons until he became unconscious. Mr. Lu's arms and legs became very swollen, and he had much difficulty walking. After being illegally sentenced to prison, Lu was rejected by the Shenyang Prison due to his poor physical condition.
