Ms. Luo Jiazhi, 62, was a resident of Wuhan City. In July 2001, she was arrested by police chief Peng Xianguang along with Liu Sanhei, Yu Guoqiang, and others, from the Erqiao Police Station of Hanyang in Wuhan City. She was detained in the Taojialing brainwashing center, where she suffered brutal torture. On February 9, 2002, she was released. After returning home, the police kept Ms. Luo under close surveillance, taking away her personal freedom. Every time she went outside, they forced her to undergo a body search. In June 2002, she passed away.
