The 13th of May, 2000 will be the first "World Falun Dafa Day". With the advocacy of Falun Dafa practitioners worldwide, 17 Falun Dafa Associations jointly agreed and announced the "World Falun Dafa Day" in order to commemorate this great holiday of the entire mankind, enable more people to understand Falun Dafa, and draw more people of predestined affinity to Falun Dafa. It is also intended to appeal to all kind-hearted people for their support of Falun Dafa practitioners in China to gain back their legal rights for freedom of belief and cultivation as soon as possible. It is also to encourage overseas practitioners to upgrade themselves and make further advances as soon as possible.
Since the announcement was made public, Falun Dafa practitioners around the world are paying close attention to and getting ready for this great holiday to come. Overseas practitioners are taking advantage of all possible conditions to prepare Falun Dafa materials, deliver invitation letters, make posters and flyers, and reserve spaces for group practice and exercise demonstration. Many practitioners in China are whole-heartedly preparing and collecting the information regarding the truth of Falun Dafa. They are writing their own and their fellow practitioners' cultivation experiences. They also transcribe into text the severe tests practitioners experienced physically and mentally, as well as thousands of touching stories of practitioners' safeguarding Dafa. These practitioners have sacrificed themselves for others since the persecution of Falun Gong by the Chinese government a year ago.
Falun Dafa practitioners worldwide have a common wish, that is, through their dedicated effort and selfless contribution, more people can hear the truth of Falun Dafa and see the tremendous happiness Falun Dafa has brought to over 100 million people in a period as short as 8 years. It is also hoped that people in the world can learn the touching experiences of Falun Dafa practitioners for upholding their belief in the past year. We believe that our benevolent and beautiful wish will be realized. The first "World Falun Dafa Day" will help the practitioners in China gain more moral support from the people of all walks of life in society, and enable more just, kind-hearted people to receive the benefits of Falun Dafa.
