(Clearwisdom.net) I am a new practitioner that began to practice less than a year ago. After reading Zhuan Falun, I was very excited and wondered why I had not known about this earlier. About a month after I began to practice, I was anxious to have my family start practicing as well. I hoped that they could read Zhuan Falun, come to know the truth, and be saved. Living in a city far away, I usually returned home only during the holidays or for certain special family events. This time, however, because this was the most important matter for everyone, I decided to return home immediately.
The practitioner who introduced Dafa to me started to practice in 1997. She has many Dafa materials at home, including all of Master's lectures. She picked some Dafa books and truth-clarification materials suitable for beginners and gave them to me. I was very happy and went home with them.
At dinnertime, I excitedly announced to everyone that I had begun to practice Falun Gong. With those words, however, the entire family erupted in chaos. Several began to attack me, which made me fully recognize effects of the CCP's brainwashing. They did not listen to me at all. As a result, I did not dare take out the books. They also gave me many terrible examples about practitioners, including one about a young fellow living in a neighboring building who committed suicide. (In fact, nobody knew why he committed suicide, but his death was somehow attributed to Falun Gong.)
I had not practiced for very long, plus I was not diligent. Intimidated by my family, I returned all the books to the fellow practitioner after I got home.
Since I had already bought a copy of Zhuan Falun and a CD player to do the exercises, I did not want to discard them, and the fellow practitioner often continued to help me. She told me how she began to practice, her experiences, and the miraculous incidents that happened to her and other practitioners. She said Falun Gong practitioners would not lie because heaven would not forgive such a thing. With her help, I gradually became determined to cultivate diligently.
Six months later, I returned home again during a holiday break. I was confident because, after this period of Fa-study, I had a better and deeper understanding of the Fa. With no hesitation, I clarified the truth to my family with facts and evidence. It worked very well and I realized that, as long as we are righteous, we can change people. My father joined the army a long time ago and he became a CCP member before 1949. After personally experiencing and witnessing so many CCP plots, he was happy to quit. Other family members also quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations, including my mother, elder sister, younger brother, nephew, and nephew-in-law. I was glad that it went very smoothly.
Right now, in addition to studying Zhuan Falun every day, I also read all of Master's other articles. Not a single day goes by that I don't read the Fa. Master asked us to do all the three things well. With such limited time, fellow practitioners, let us all work hard on this!
