(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 24 cities or counties in 12 provinces. In this report, 23 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention and at least 28 practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Shifang City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zhou Yubao Faces Forced Labor Term
At around 9:00 p.m. on May 26, 2010, three or four officers from the Shifang City Domestic Security Division arrived outside Ms. Zhou Yubao's home. Ms. Zhou refused to let them in. The officers called in half a dozen firemen and forced their way into Ms. Zhou's home. They detained her, searched her home, and took her to the Shifang City Detention Center for 15 days of administrative detention. The police are planning to take her to a labor camp.
2. [Pingdu City, Shandong Province] Ms. Sun Yanbo and Ms. Wang Chunye Arrested
At around 9:30 a.m. on June 8, 2010, Ms. Sun Yanbo and Ms. Wang Chunye were reported to the police while clarifying the truth in the Liyuan area. It was reported that the two practitioners were taken to the Liyuan Police Station and Ms. Sun was released the same day due to physical problems.

3. [Ruanling County, Sichuan Province] Mr. Peng Guoqing Sentenced to Four Years in Prison
Recently the Ruanling County Court held a secret trial and sentenced Mr. Peng Guoqing to four years in prison. Mr. Peng's family was not aware of the trial until ten days later. They were notified that they had two months to appeal the sentencing.
4. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Elderly Mr. Gao Juxian Arrested
At 10:50 a.m. on June 6, 2010, the police spotted and followed elderly Mr. Gao Juxian while he was distributing Falun Gong materials near the Xiangheyuan bus station in Wuchang District, Wuhan City, Hubei Province. Mr. Gao was arrested and taken to the Yangyuan Brainwashing Center in Wuchang District.
5. [Beijing] Ms. Chen Xinzhu Arrested
On the afternoon of June 5, 2010, Ms. Chen Xinzhu was turned in to the police while distributing Falun Gong brochures in the Sijiqing European Style Shopping Center. She was taken to the Sijiqing Police Station in Haidian District, Beijing and later transferred to the Haidian District Detention Center. Ms. Chen lives in the Balizhuan area in Haidian District.

6. [Tonghua County, Jilin Province] Ms. Jin Taixian Arrested
On the evening of June 6, 2010, Ms. Jin Taixian was arrested by the police in her residential community in Tonghua County. Her whereabouts are unknown.
7. [Qufu City, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Honglan and Ms. Huang Chunling Arrested
On June 5, 2010, Ms. Liu Honglan and Ms. Huang Chunling in Qufu City went to Shuyuan Township in Qufu City to clarify the truth. They were turned in to the police. The two practitioners were taken to the Wangzhuang Township Police Station. At around 10:00 p.m. they were sent home after the police followed instructions from the Qufu City 610 Office, intending to search Ms. Liu's home. Ms. Liu did not have her keys with her, so the officers were not able to get in. The following day, officers at the Qufu City Police Department 610 Office told the two practitioners to pick up their tricycle and bicycle that they had left in Wangzhuang Township. When they showed up at the Wangzhuang Township Police Station, they were arrested and taken to the Qufu City Detention Center.
8. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Mr. Tong Weimin Held at Baoding Forced Labor Camp
Mr. Tong Weimin, 23, is a senior studying at the Hebei Agriculture University. He lives at No. 40, Group 2, Longtan Village, Qinglong Town, Qinglong Autonomous County of Man Nationality in Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province.
On May 26, 2010, three or four police officers from the Nanshi District Domestic Security Division in Baoding City arrested him. Mr. Tong was taken to the Baoding Forced Labor Camp after being held at the Baoding Detention Center for a dozen days.

Around June 1, 2010, Ms. Wang Shujuan in Yongzhou City, Hunan Province was sentenced to four years in prison by the Lingling District Court. Ms. Wang has appealed her case demanding immediate release on the grounds of her innocence.
11. [Haifeng County, Guangdong Province] Mr. Song Zhenshi Taken to Labor Camp
On March 19, 2010, Mr. Song Zhenshi in Haifeng County was arrested by the Shanwei City 610 Office. He was held at the Haifeng County Detention Center. Two months later, he was secretly transferred to the Sanshui Forced Labor Camp in Guangdong Province. This is the fourth time he has been arrested by the 610 Office.
12. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Xu Diankun Arrested
Late in the evening of June 8, 2010, Ms. Xu Diankun was arrested by the police at her home in Beisanjia Township, Qingyuan County, Fushun City, Liaoning Province.
13. [Sanmenxia City, Henan Province] Ms. Gao Fengjie and Other Practitioners Remain in Detention
Between June and August 2009, Ms. Gao Fengjie, Mr. Liu Jianfeng, Ms. Zhang Zuzhi, and Ms. Xujing from Sanmenxia City were taken to the Sanmenxia City Detention Center and the Shan County Detention Center. They remain under unlawful detention there. In addition, Mr. Mu Yongfeng and other practitioners remain in custody at the Lingbao Detention Center.

It has been reported that on May 31, 2010, one full month after Mr. Zhang Shenglun was held at the Jiujiang County Detention Center, officers from the Domestic Security Division of the Jiujiang County Police Department in Jiangxi Province extorted 5,000 yuan from Mr. Zhang's father to cover brainwashing expenses. They then transferred him to the Wuhan Brainwashing Center in Hubei Province.

16. [Changyi City, Shandong Province] Police Harass and Arrest Practitioners
At around 10:00 a.m. on June 1, 2010, officers in Changyi City, Shandong Province surrounded an elderly practitioner's home in Xiling Village in Weizi Town. They arrested a practitioner surnamed Ma and confiscated Falun Dafa books, a portrait of the founder of Falun Gong, and weekly publications. The practitioner was released the same day, after the police extorted 4,000 yuan in cash.
Ms. Yu Xia was also arrested on the same day in the Liuhe Development District.
17. [Wudi County, Shandong Province] Mr. Tian Fuqing Arrested
On the morning of June 3, 2010, Mr. Tian Fuqing was reported to the police while distributing Falun Gong materials in a farmers' market in Yanghesi Township in Qingyun County. He was arrested by the 610 Office. Members of the 610 Office in Qingyun and Wudi Counties searched his home that afternoon.

18. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Ma Hongxia Remains in Custody after Being Taken Back to Her Hometown
On April 20, 2010, Ms. Ma Hongxia, from Shenyang City, Liaoning Province, was arrested by the police in Zhifu District, Yantai City, Shandong Province. She has been taken back to Shenyang City, where she remains in custody.

20. [Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. He Yuankun and Her Husband Taken to Police Station
On May 24, 2010, Ms. He Yuankun and her husband went to a local garden in the Chang'an area in Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province. Ms. He presented the facts about Falun Gong to tourists while her husband was reading a newspaper nearby. She was turned in to the police and ordered to go to the police station. Her husband accompanied her, and they were held until 8:00 p.m. before being taken back to their home by a dozen police officers in four police cars. The police searched their home and confiscated all Falun Dafa books and materials.
21. [Yilan County, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Chen Jizhong and His Sister Ms. Chen Jihuan Taken to Prison
On November 29, 2009, Mr. Chen Jizhong and his younger sister Ms. Chen Jihuan in Yilan County, Heilongjiang Province were arrested by officers from the Daotaiqiao Police Station in Yilan County. They were put on trial at the Yilan County Court. Their attorney defended their innocence. Yet, Mr. Chen was sentenced to six years in prison, and Ms. Chen was sentenced to four years. The two practitioners appealed the sentencing. The Harbin Intermediate Court upheld the original sentences. Mr. Chen has been taken to the Lianjiangkou Prison in Jiamusi City. Ms. Chen has been taken to the Heilongjiang Women's Prison.

23. [Jiaozuo City, Henan Province] Ms. Liu Meixiang Detained for Over 20 Days
At 10:20 p.m. on May 20, 2010, Ms. Liu Meixiang, from Boai County, Jiaozuo City, Henan Province, was arrested by officers from Chaoyang District Police Department in Beijing. She has been held at the Chaoyang District Detention Center for over 20 days.
On the afternoon of June 8, her husband, Mr. Bi Zhicai, went to the detention center asking to see her. The police refused to let them meet. Officers from the Chaoyang District Police Department also went to Mr. Bi's workplace to harass him.

25. [Henan Province] Mr. Zhu Chao and Ms. Dong Yueling Arrested in Lianyungang City, Shandong Province
Mr. Zhu Chao and Ms. Dong Yueling came from Henan Province to Liangyungang City to work odd jobs. On April 22, 2010 they were arrested by the local 610 Office. Ms. Dong has been taken back to her hometown. Her daughter, who was about to take the nationwide college entrance exams, was also sent back with her. Mr. Zhu has recently been placed under formal arrest.

At 6:00 a.m. on April 28, 2010, Mr. Dou Changying was arrested by the Dongfa Township Police Station. His family said the police were planning to take him to the Suihua Forced Labor Camp. Mr. Dou lives in Xinfa Hamlet in Dongfa Township, Zhaodong City, Heilongjiang Province.
