(Minghui.org) Editors’ Note: In both Western and Chinese culture, the principle of karmic retribution, that is, being held ultimately accountable for one's own actions, is widely accepted. The fundamental teaching of Falun Gong is the characteristic of the universe, "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance." The universe will reward actions that are in harmony with this principle, while actions such as beating, torturing and murdering people will incur karmic retribution. Stated another way, good deeds will be rewarded with good, while evildoings will meet due retribution. Articles such as this one are meant as a compassionate reminder of this principle to those who would commit wrongdoing. While many of those who persecute Falun Gong are merely “following orders,” the universal law requires that they too be held responsible for their actions, and that only by reversing their course of wrongdoing may they escape retribution.

Zhang Feng, a 38-year-old police officer in Liquan County, Shaanxi Province, was hostile toward Falun Gong and brutally persecuted Falun Gong practitioners when he worked at the Jianling Police Station. He threatened and beat practitioners, sent them to forced labor camps, and even insulted the children of practitioners.

Zhang Feng used the persecution as a ladder to advance his career. He died suddenly at the police station on October 12, 2012.

Disregarded Practitioners' Kind Advice

In 2008, Zhang Feng, Chen Ye and other police officers arrested Falun Gong practitioners in Jianling Town and brutally beat them. One of the practitioners was Mr. Chen Liang. They fiercely stepped on Mr. Chen's face, head and neck, until his face and neck turned black with bruises.

They also arrested Ms. Chen Shuxian and her 14-year-old daughter Li Ning, and took them into custody. They insulted and beat the female practitioner and her child for more than three hours. In the process, they grabbed Li Ning's hand and forcibly took her fingerprints.

Zhang Feng beat and cursed practitioners no matter how young or old they were. He also sent more than 10 practitioners to forced labor camps in the past few years alone.

Practitioners in China and overseas tried to stop him from committing crimes against humanity by phoning him, writing to him and telling him the facts about Falun Gong in person. However, he refused to listen and said, “I'm not afraid of retribution.”

Tragedies Serve as Warning for Perpetrators

Many police officers in Liquan County involved in the persecution of Falun Gong have received retribution in recent years. Luo Liangmiao died in a car accident. Yang Jianguo died from cancer. Su Leihuo committed suicide together with his son. Cheng Haizhan's father died from injuries sustained in a car accident.

The persecutors have been warned with tragedy after tragedy, and in the face of persecution, practitioners have continued to compassionately urge them to make wise choices for themselves and their families before it's too late.
