Crimes Committed in Gansu Women's Prison

December 13, 2014 |   By a Minghui correspondent from Gansu Province, China

(Minghui.org) Ms. Han Zhongcui from Lanzhou City was forced to stand in one place 24 hours a day for three months because she would not write a statement to renounce her belief in Falun Gong and swear profanities at her teacher, Mr. Li Hongzhi, the founder of Falun Gong. Her legs swelled terribly from this ordeal.

This is just one of many such incidents that have taken place in Gansu Women's Prison since the persecution of Falun Gong started in July 1999. The guards incite criminal inmates to torture Falun Gong practitioners to try to force them to give up their belief in Falun Gong.

Inmate Yu Weiwei used the handle of a toilet brush to whip Ms. Lu Yinxia's legs until it broke. Yu then poured cold water over Ms. Lu's head and punched her. Yu also pinched her arms, causing deep bruises.

Ms. Chen Shufen was not allowed to use the toilet because she refused to give up her belief, so she ended up soiling her trousers. Inmate Guo Hui also punched her in the temples.

Inmate Lu Yan beat Ms. Lu Guihua because she would not give up practicing Falun Gong. Her bed in the freezing cold winter of northern China was a bare concrete floor.

More than 30 practitioners are currently detained in Gansu Women's Prison, including some in their 70s.
