(Minghui.org) “For sharing her story and informing the public about the persecution of Falun Gong, my sister has been illegally detained. I know such human rights violations happen every day in China,” said Ms. Wang Suling at a December 10 press conference in front of the Chinese Embassy in Washington, DC.

Ms. Wang's sister, Ms. Wang Sufang (王素芳), was arrested from home on October 16 in Dalian City, Liaoning Province. She has been detained for 56 days in Yaojia Detention Center. Her home was ransacked and valuables confiscated. Family members have not been able to visit her.

According to Ms. Wang, Sufang started practicing Falun Gong in 1998. Prior to that, she was hospitalized with hemorrhagic fever, and her family was notified that her condition was critical. She regained her health shortly after she took up the practice. Sufang is 61 years old and a retired elementary school teacher.

Ms. Wang Suling and other DC practitioners held a press conference in front of the Chinese Embassy on International Human Rights Day to call for the release of her sister.

Ms. Wang Chunying from Dalian tells how she was tortured in Yaojia Detention Center, where Ms. Wang Sufang is currently detained.

Ms. Wang Chunying, originally from Dalian and a current DC area resident, described the tortures she was subjected to in the same detention center: “I was forced to sit on a small stool for over 10 hours. Then the head of the detention center chained my handcuffs and shackles together so that I was twisted into a ball. I was left like that on a bed for five days and nights straight.

Another local practitioner, Ma Chunmei, said, “My sister Ma Chunling was also in Yaojia Detention Center. I know how they torture people there, and I am worried about Ms. Wang Sufang's safety.”

The Minghui website reports 94 confirmed deaths between January and November 2014, 6 deaths per month on average. The actual death toll is likely much higher, but the Chinese regime does is best to restrict such information.
