(Minghui.org) Three Falun Gong practitioners in Jinan City, Shandong Province were illegally arrested and detained in January 2014 by officers from the Zhonggong Police Station in Licheng District. One was released before the Chinese New Year, while the others are still being held in the detention center. The police have submitted their cases to the Licheng District Procuratorate.
Practitioners Arrested
Mr. Xu Yanjiang, around 60, is from Xinglong No. 3 Village in Licheng District, Jinan. He was arrested at his rented residence near the Yangguangshuncheng Community at around 4:30 p.m. on January 18, 2014. The police officer also took his Fulu motor vehicle. Mr. Xu is currently detained in the Jigang Detention Center in Jinan.
Ms. Chai Diyun, 52, was arrested in Xinglong No.1 Village at around 10:00 a.m. on January 21 2014, and her house was raided. She is currently being held in the Zhonggong Detention Center.
Her son and other relatives went to the detention center to request her release, but the guards didn't allow them to visit Ms. Chai. The detention center authorities told them that they are not allowed to see her until the trial 35 days later.
Ms. Liu Xinmei was arrested on the evening of January 18, 2014 and detained in the Zhonggong Detention Center in Jinan. She was released prior to the Chinese New Year.
Excuse for the Arrests
The police stated that the arrested practitioners were recorded by a video camera while they were hanging banners in Zhonggong Town, Licheng District on the evening of December, 31 2013. The banners they hung up had the words, “Falun Dafa is Good. Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is Good” and “Heaven Will Eradicate the Chinese Communist Party. Withdraw from the CCP and Its Affiliated Organizations to Protect Yourself.” The banners were intended to clarify the truth to people about Falun Gong and provide an opportunity for people to choose between good and evil.
