The Art of Zhen Shan Ren International Exhibition Kicks Off Its 2014 UK Tour

June 03, 2014 |   By Minghui correspondent Tang Xiuming

(Minghui.org) The Art of Zhen, Shan, Ren (Truth, Compassion, Tolerance) International Exhibition launched its 2014 tour in the United Kingdom in Alfriston, a small seaside city in southern England from May 24 to May 31. The next stops include Asia House in London and Norwich, Norfolk.

Visitors appreciate the artwork at the Old Chapel Center, Alfriston, a small seaside city in southern England during the week-long Art of Zhen, Shan, Ren (Truth, Compassion, Tolerance) International Exhibition between May 24 and 31.

Ms. Caroline Adcock, facility manager for the Old Chapel Center

Caroline Adcock, facility manager for the Old Chapel Center, was happy to have hosted the art exhibition. The chapel is a tourist spot in East Sussex and the spiritual center of the community.

“Thought provoking, enlightening. How appropriate to see this exhibition in the Old Chapel Center, which was built by non-conformist villagers in 1801, pushing the boundaries and widening awareness. Their inspiration for the building was to spread the message of truth, compassion and tolerance and it is good to see the same message which they hoped to share 200 years ago, here now, living on taking it forward into the modern world. So the message lives on,” Ms. Adcock said.

Ms. Julie Couzins and Mr. Stephen Grace

Local couple Julie Couzins and Stephen Grace appreciated having the art exhibition in town.

“Astounding emotion within the artwork. Thank you!” said Ms. Couzins.

Mr. Grace said, “Thank you for ringing such a beautiful collection of paintings of such caliber and importance to a little village like Alfriston. We are truly grateful!”

Sisters Amelia and Tabitha Russell are captivated by the artwork on display

Sisters Amelia and Tabitha Russell saw the art exhibition together. Amelia shared, “I found out for the first time what is happening to these poor people in China. The exhibition has opened my eyes to how lucky I am to live in a county where I can have my own thoughts.”

“A very sad story,” a girl from Hong Kong commented.

The exhibition has toured more than 50 countries and has been shown over 800 times worldwide since its debut in July 2004 at the Rayburn US Congress Building in Washington, DC.

In the United Kingdom, the exhibition traveled to 11 venues in 2013 and was seen by approximately 23,500 people. Among them, 6,500 visited the Caernarfon Castle exhibition over 13 days in August.

The artworks have been shown in over 30 UK venues since 2010, including the Houses of Parliament; Pollock House, Glasgow; Caernarfon Castle, Wales; La Galleria, Pall Mall; and Kingston Museum.

Below are just a few of the touching quotes from visitors to the exhibition at Caernarfon Castle in Wales in August 2013:

“Simply beautiful, amazing talent and an exceptional experience to witness such thought provoking art in person. Thank you for the opportunity.”

“Very moving! I trust goodness will prevail through all the suffering.”

“Very powerful message. What has happened in the past will happen again, and repeat itself, like ripples in water. It is up to the good people to not just think, but to do something.”
