(Minghui.org) Editor's note: Below is Martha Flores Vasquez's proclamation, read by the MC, on the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol on July 17, 2014, at the rally marking 15 years of the persecution of Falun Gong.
The Honorable Ms. Vasquez is the elected District Leader in the 40th Assembly District of Queens County of New York City and New York State.
The Global Service Center for Quitting the Chinese Communist Party is based in Flushing, NY, within Ms. Vasquez's district. Over the past several years, local Tuidang (quitting the Party) activities have been interfered with, sometimes with acts of violence, by those with ties to the Chinese Communist Party.
Support from Ms. Vasquez and other leaders and citizens has been an integral part of this movement to bring freedom to the minds of the Chinese people.
Whereas, the Tuidang movement is freeing the hearts and minds of Chinese people around the world,
Whereas, the Tuidang movement refers to the personal act of Chinese people renouncing their memberships in the Chinese Communist Party, Chinese Communist Youth League, and Chinese Communist Young Pioneers, based on acts of hate, which is considered a crime in the U.S.,
Whereas, the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party published in November 2004 has been empowering people around the world with awareness of the deceptive nature and the extremist historical behaviors of the communist party and, in particular, that of the CCP,
Whereas, people from all walks of life participate in the Tuidang movement, irrespective of social status, religion, belief, gender, and ethnicity,
Whereas, the Global Service Center for Quitting the Chinese Communist Party, based in New York, has be coordinating the Tuidang movement worldwide,
Whereas, the Tuidang movement began in December 2004, and the number of people who have renounced the CCP and its affiliated organizations reached 167 million in June 2014, and the number of renunciations continues to increase at almost 100,000 each day in 2014,
Whereas, the Tuidang movement, as the largest grassroots movements in history, aims to bring public awareness through a peaceful transformation,
Whereas, the Tuidang movement has brought to the international community a renewed vision of a world without communism through a peaceful movement,
Now, therefore, be it proclaimed, I, honorable Martha Flores Vasquez, elected district leader in the 40th Assembly District of Queens County, New York City, hereby commend all the brave participants of the Tuidang movement and extend moral support for the Tuidang movement, and
Be it further proclaimed that a copy of this proclamation be prepared in honor of the Tuidang movement.
