(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 11 cities or counties in 7 provinces. According to this report, 5 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment, and at least 10 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Zhang Gonghua Develops Liver Tumor Due to Torture in Prison
Mr. Zhang Gonghua, 39, was a graduate student at Fudan University in Shanghai. He was dismissed from the university for going to Beijing to appeal for the right to practice Falun Gong in June 2000. He went to Shenyang City and did some odd jobs to earn a living.
He was arrested in July 2002 and sentenced to 15 years in prison. He was subjected to torture and slave labor in Shenyang No.1 Prison of Liaoning Province.
He had developed a liver tumor because of the torture. However, the prison authorities refuse to grant medical parole.
2. [Ningjin County, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Hongqin and Ms. Liu Yuhong Detained
Ms. Liu Hongqin and Ms. Liu Yuhong were arrested for informing people about the persecution of Falun Gong on the afternoon of May 23, 2014. Their homes were ransacked. Both practitioners were taken to the Dezhou Prison and released on June 6. However, 12 days later, they were arrested and taken to the Dezhou Brainwashing Center.
3. [Beijing] Ms. He Guilan and Others Arrested
Ms. He Guilan and about eight practitioners were recently arrested by agents from the Miyun County 610 Office. Agents and collaborators tried a variety of means to force practitioners to renounce their belief.
4. [Hanzhong City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Zuo Li's Whereabouts Unknown
Ms. Zuo Li from Chenggu County was arrested when she went out around June 10, 2014. Her whereabouts are unknown.
5. [Beijing] Ms. Xu Fuying Arrested
Ms. Xu Fuying, 78, a retired physician from the Beijing Space System Department, was arrested at home on June 3, 2014 by agents from the Donggaodi Police Station in the Fengtai District, Donggaodi Office and 610 Office. She was taken to a brainwashing center and released on June 17.
6. [Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture, Jilin Province] Ms. Wu Lianhua Detained
Ms. Wu Lianhua, 48, Korean, was arrested on July 12, 2013. She has been held in the Anshan Detention Center in Tumen.
7. [Lianyungang City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Huang Rongsheng and Husband Arrested
Ms. Huang Rongsheng, a retired employee from the Lianyungang Chinese Medicine Hospital and her husband Mr. Zhou were arrested on the morning of June 19, 2014. Their home was ransacked.
8. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Gao Ke Detained
Mr. Gao Ke from the Daowai District was arrested by plainclothes officers for talking about Falun Gong on June 19, 2014. He was taken to the Donglai Police Station and his home was ransacked. Mr. Gao is being held in a detention center.
9. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Li Yanhui Detained
Deputy chief Li Xiao and other officers from Yushu Domestic Security Division broke into Ms. Li Yanhui's home and arrested her in the morning of June 18, 2014. Mr. Li was taken to Yushu Detention Center for a 5-day term.

10. [Huizhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Huang Xuehan Arrested
Ms. Huang Xuehan was arrested by 610 Office agents on June 14, 2014 for distributing informational materials about Falun Gong. Her laptop computer, cell phone and informational materials about Falun Gong were confiscated. Ms. Huang was released that evening.
11. [Qufu City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Honglan and Ms. Wang Qin Arrested
Ms. Zhang Honglan and Ms. Wang Qin were arrested for informing people about Falun Gong on June 16, 2014, by Xizou Police Station officers. They were taken to Qufu Detention Center and held for 10 days. They went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution. They were released on June 18.
12. [Chongqing] Ms. Zhang Xuanmei Passes Away as a Result of Persecution
Ms. Zhang Xuanmei, 64, is from the Yubei District. Authorities decided to send her to a forced labor camp for a two-year term on April 5, 2008.
She was taken to the Shabao Women's Forced Labor Camp where she was tortured and forced to perform labor. She had to wrap candy from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. If she failed to complete the quota of 30 kg each day, she had to stand facing a wall, keeping a military posture, or be exposed under the baking sun for several hours, with not a drop of water.
Guards tried to force her to write the three statements and renounce Falun Gong, which she refused. She was deprived of sleep and forced to stand all night. Every day, collaborators tried to force her to write a “thought report.”
She was denied family visitations. She was put into solitary confinement and beaten. When she was released in April 2010, she was covered with scars. She never recovered and her health continued to deteriorate. She passed away on March 20, 2014.
