(Minghui.org) Dozens of officers from the Shenyang City Domestic Security Division and the Criminal Police Division were involved in arresting Mr. Tian Jinxin, Ms. Han Jing, and Ms. Liu Yuhan from Harbin City in May 2014, after following them and tapping their phones for more than a month. The three practitioners had helped other practitioners, who had previously been arrested, hire legal representation. They were also suspected of writing articles, published on the Minghui website, that exposed the crimes committed by authorities.

Twelve practitioners were arrested last year for doing the Falun Gong exercises outside. During an interrogation, the three recently-arrested practitioners were forced to answer questions about how they hired the lawyers, and how much the lawyers were paid for representing the 12 practitioners.

The police also tried to make them confess that they had written three articles published on the Minghui website. The police videotaped Mr. Tian while he was being interrogated.

One of the Minghui articles in question was titled, “Xu Wenyou, Zhou Yongkang's Protege in the Shenyang Police Department, Has Profited from the Persecution.” The article detailed how Xu Wenyou, current chief of Shenyang Police Department, had risen from a close relationship with former member of the politburo Zhou Yongkang.

Zhou Yongkang is currently under investigation. Zhang Dongyang, former chief procurator of the Shenyang City Procuratorate, and Li Wenxi, former chief of the Liaoning Province Public Security Bureau, were arrested.

Xu Wenyou may have had concern about being investigated or arrested. Xu Wenyou was enraged when the article was published on Minghui, and he ordered the arrests of many practitioners in Shenyang City.

Mr. Tian was taken to the Shenyang Police Department on May 17, 2014. The police and several psychologists interrogated him for three days. He was deprived of sleep. During the interrogation, the psychologists were replaced three times. When they were unable to get what they wanted from Mr. Tian, he was beaten, and they took off his underpants and put them in his mouth, and sealed his mouth with tape.

Officers Tie and Yu pulled his legs apart and used electric batons to shock his pubic area, causing serious injury to his skin. They tried to force Mr. Tian and Ms. Han Jing to perform indecent acts. To resist, Mr. Tian tried to stand up as he was being tied to an iron chair torture device.

Ms. Han Jing and Ms. Liu Yuhan were also deprived of sleep for three days at the Shenyang Police Department. The police told them that Mr. Tian had given up practicing Falun Gong. This was an attempt to deceive them and get more information from them. Five groups of police officers interrogated them in turn over a long period of time.

Attorneys for the three practitioners went to see their clients seven times after they were arrested, and were refused access each time. The police claimed this was because they were still being interrogated.

The supervision department at the detention center and Procuratorate were contacted about the situation. The lawyers were finally allowed to see their clients on June 17, 2014.

The case files for Mr. Tian, Ms. Liu, and Ms. Han have been handed over to the Shenhe District Procuratorate. The lawyers submitted a letter protesting the arrests to the Procuratorate on the morning of June 20, 2014.
