(Minghui.org) I am a Falun Dafa practitioner who started practicing in 1995. My illnesses that I had for so many years were healed after I started practicing. I also developed a great relationship with my mother-in-law. When my husband saw my transformation, he became supportive of me.
After July 20, 1999, when the persecution started under Jiang's regime, he became very scared, and he did not allow me to continue with my cultivation. I knew that Falun Dafa was the true Buddha Fa cultivation, and I couldn't give it up. Therefore, I started practicing in secret. I had also been getting in touch with other practitioners without letting him know.
I was putting up truth-clarification materials, when I was reported by someone and ended up being illegally arrested and held at a detention center. When he found out, he was extremely upset. He did not allow me to continue to practice, nor did he allow practitioners to come to my home. As soon as he saw truth-clarification materials or any Falun Dafa books at home, he tore them up. He often cursed and beat me. So I had to go to another practitioner's home to study the Falun Dafa books. One time when he caught me at this practitioner's home, he began to kick me repeatedly. He then dragged me all the way home. Even though I tried many means to tell him the real truth about Falun Dafa, he didn't want to listen to me. This terrible situation continued into 2011.
We began to promote the installation of receivers for NTDTV programs in our area in 2011, and I wanted to install one at my home. I talked to my husband, but he didn't quite agree. When my righteous thoughts came forth, I made up my mind. When he wasn't at home, I asked a practitioner to help with the installation. After he came back he saw it, but he didn't say anything.
When he was at home, I turned up the volume purposefully to have him hear the programming on NTDTV. Gradually he began to listen to it, and then he began to watch it. He also said in front of me:“Very good! What's said there is all true!”
One time, I saw that he was still watching it after midnight. He was particularly interested in the "commentary" programs. When he was watching it, he was totally absorbed in the program.
With the passage of time, he changed completely. I can now study and do the exercises at home, and I can leave my Falun Dafa books and truth-clarification materials out openly at home. When practitioners come for a visit, he welcomes them sincerely. He is like a new person.
Whenever I go out now to study Falun Dafa or to talk to people about the practice, or to hand out informational materials, I always tell him, and he is supportive. In addition, sometimes he also reads the truth-clarification materials very carefully.
One time, when I was outside putting up truth-clarification stickers, there was a big electric pole right in the corner of the street. This was a very good spot for a sticker. However, because of the traffic, I didn't dare to go there to put up a sticker. After I came home, I told my husband about it. Unexpectedly, he asked me:“Do you have any more? Give me one, I'll help you!” Sure enough, he took a sticker from me and headed out. He then just easily stuck it on that electric pole.
