(Minghui.org) An Australian resident named Li Qiao is appealing to the international community to rescue her parents, who are detained in China because they practice Falun Gong.

Her parents, Mr. Li Jianrong and Ms. Dong Zhixiang, were arrested at their home along with another Falun Gong practitioner on September 21, 2015. The other practitioner, Mr. Lan Junan, was released on medical parole. The couple were taken to the Heshan City Detention Center, where they were forced to do hard labor.

Before the arrest, several policemen performed surveillance near the couple's home. Six officers forced their way into the couple's home, held the three practitioners down, searched the home for an hour and a half, and confiscated two laptops, two mobile phones, hundreds of yuan in cash, and Falun Gong books.

Eight policemen then searched Mr. Lan's home. His wife, Ms. Ou Hongxia, and son were handcuffed and forcibly restrained when they questioned the legality of the raid. Police seized two computers, a tablet, several Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs, and Falun Gong books.

Later that night, the two couples were interrogated at Xinhu Police Station in Shaping Town. Ms. Ou was released at around 2:30am. The other three were taken to Heshan City Detention Center the next day.

Ms. Dong Zhixiang, a clothing designer and quality control manager, started practicing Falun Gong in 1997. Her husband, Mr. Li Jianrong, an electrical engineer, started in 1998. The couple had been arrested for their belief in 2001, after which Ms. Dong was sent to one year of forced labor and Mr. Li one and a half years.

Mr. Lan Junan started practicing Falun Gong in May 1999. He was sent to one and a half years of forced labor in February 2001, diagnosed with tuberculosis that September, and released on medical parole.
