(Minghui.org) Riding the tide of the recent flood of lawsuits filed in China against former Chinese dictator Jiang Zemin for his role in the persecution of Falun Gong, Falun Gong practitioners in Toronto collected signatures at the intersection of Yonge and Queens streets in downtown Toronto from 4 to 5:30 p.m. on November 9.

Many people told the practitioners that they'd heard about the lawsuits and appreciated this opportunity to express their support.

As of today, more than 5000 Toronto residents have signed the petition calling on the Chinese legal system to bring Jiang Zemin to justice.

Signing the petition to support Falun Gong's peaceful resistance

Mara believes that Jiang Zemin is evil.

Mara, who was well-informed about the persecution and Falun Gong, believes that Falun Gong is a positive force, both on society and on individual lives. She thinks the persecution in China is “unbelievably awful.” She was glad to see practitioners in the downtown area and expressed interest in learning the Falun Gong exercises.

This woman said that many of her friends and coworkers had been talking about the lawsuits against Jiang Zemin. She was glad to have a chance to sign the petition.

Nao and Ascao, both from Japan, learned about the persecution and the lawsuits.

When several people wanted to make a donation to Falun Gong, practitioners told them that the best way to support justice is to tell more people about the lawsuits and the persecution and to ask them to speak up, so that the Chinese regime will feel the pressure.

A Chinese man asked practitioners how much money they made to hold such an event. A practitioner told him, “It is all voluntary. Most of us have good jobs. The reason we stand here in the cold is because we want to tell more people about the persecution, and we want to help Chinese people recognize that the communist party is evil.”

The practitioner talked to him for a long time, finally asking him if he wanted to quit the Party. The man thought for a bit and said, “I trust you. OK, I will quit.”

Lee said that he knows David Kilgour, one of the investigators of the Chinese state-sanctioned forced organ harvesting, and that he would read the investigation report carefully.

Lee, who works at a local bank, was horrified to learn that practitioners are killed on demand and their organs harvested for outrageous profits. He told a practitioner that he never signed petitions, but he trusted that practitioner and would make an exception. Lee said that he would read the investigation report on organ harvesting carefully and pass the information on to his friends, asking them to support the lawsuits.
