(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Miao Wei, a clarinet player in the Haidian District Culture Center of Beijing, was illegally arrested and taken to the Haidian District Brainwashing Center on August 28. On September 22 he transferred to the Haidian District Detention Center.

On August 28, Zhang Shengchao, Curator of the Haidian District Culture Center, and Liu Jianchao, Secretary of the Haidian District Committee of Culture and Literary, were awaiting the arrival of Mr. Miao, who was to attend a meeting.

A police car arrived shortly after and Mr. Miao was illegally arrested and taken to the Haidian District Legal Education Training Base, a brainwashing center where Falun Gong practitioners are subjected to intense brainwashing tactics to force them to renounce their belief.

Three security guards and two collaborators (former practitioners), forced Mr. Miao to watch brainwashing videos daily in an effort to “transform” him.

Mr.Miao was allowed about three hours of sleep beginning on September 3, 2015. He was deprived of sleep for two days, beginning on September 19. This type of torture method is commonly used in the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners.

After two days of sleep deprivation, Zhang and Liu asked Mr. Miao what he would choose. He told them that he would not give up Falun Gong.

Mr. Miao was transferred to the Wanshousi Police Station on September 21. That afternoon, Zhang Zhong and other officers from the police station ransacked his home. They confiscated a desktop computer, a laptop, two printers, 40 Falun Gong books, 800 blank DVDs and over 10 Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs.
