Community Leader: “I Don't Understand Why Chinese Embassy Officials Are So Scared of Falun Gong”

February 11, 2015 |   By a Falun Gong practitioner in Europe

(Minghui.org) I know a college professor who likes reading the Epoch Times newspaper. One day I went to see him and brought him several copies of the newspaper in Chinese—he had told me earlier that his friends also liked to read it.

When I arrived, the professor was talking with a leader in the Chinese community. He greeted me and said, “Falun Gong is here. Thank you very much!” The community leader said that he liked the Epoch Times, too.

“Guess how old he is?” The professor pointed at me and asked. “Looks like 50s or 60s,” was the reply.

“Can you believe he is almost 80?” the professor continued. “As you know, even young people have difficulty climbing up the stairs in this old building. For for him, it's a piece of cake!”

“I practice Falun Gong,” I explained. “Otherwise, given my health in the past, I would have been a broken down mess by now.”

“I see,” the community leader said, interested. “I don't understand why Chinese embassy officials are so scared of Falun Gong. Whenever you practitioners hold activities near the embassy, those officials are always afraid, and they don't even dare to come out.”

He gave an example. He once called a few of them and invited them to dinner, but they declined. One of them explained, "There are Falun Gong practitioners outside the embassy right now, and we have to wait till the event is over."

“Isn't that funny?” asked the community leader.

The professor attributed it to the persecution of Falun Gong—the officials knew it was wrong, but they had to follow it. “There are always some who are afraid of sunlight.”
