(Minghui.org) I am a Falun Gong practitioner, and I live in the countryside. I began to practice Dafa (as Falun Gong is also known) in 1996 but was not very diligent.
This is my first experience sharing article. I would like to share something amazing that happened to me and express my gratitude to the founder of Falun Gong, Master Li Hongzhi.
I was awakened in the middle of night by loud crackling sounds coming from the backyard in March 2013. Our neighbor’s cornstalk pile and barn, only a meter away from our house, were in flames.
We quickly dressed and no sooner did we step out of our house when my husband yelled, “Oh no, the cornstalks in the back are on fire!” My son was terrified and began to cry. I told him, “Don’t panic--go burn incense in front of Master’s photo.”
I ran to the backyard and was horrified to see the huge fire spreading. Several big tree trunks leaning against our house were burning, the flames licking our roof. The intense heat prevented me from moving anything away from the building.
Desperate, I went inside, and my son and I knelt before Master’s photo. We asked Master to protect our house.
About a minute later I went outside to see the flames moving away from our house, although there was no wind. My husband was able to push the tree trunks away from the house, and we were spared.
I took a close look at our house the next morning. The windows in the back were shattered, but the wood frame was intact. A pile of corn cobs covered by plastic sheets had not burned, although the plastic sheets had melted. I was so grateful for Master’s protection.
We learned later that the Communist Party committee was responsible for the fire. They had announced that officials were scheduled to visit the village and that everyone should remove their unsightly firewood and cornstalks from the street. Some of the villagers refused to comply, so the committee started a fire that went out of control.
If it had been windy that night, all 300 homes in the village could have burned down.
