(Minghui.org) Ms. Wang Gangqiang, a Falun Gong practitioner in Hubei Province, received a threatening phone call from the police on April 23: “You must stay home--you cannot go out. If we catch you, we'll give you a hard time.”
Ms. Wang was twice detained and abused in police custody in 2015 for practicing Falun Gong. Even after she was released, the police continued to monitor her.
She was illegally arrested by officers from the Shahe Police Station in Yunmeng County at the end of January 2015. While detained, she was handcuffed so tightly that the cuffs cut deep into her flesh. Two officers grabbed her and pushed her back and forth.
A police political instructor and two officers took blood samples and photos of her against her will. One officer slapped her face back and forth and locked her in a metal cage for six hours. Ms. Wang was then held at the Yunmeng County Detention Center for three days.
On April 9, Ms. Wang was detained for three hours when she went to the Xiaxindian Police Station to seek the release of several other practitioners. Officers hit her, forced her to stand for long periods of time, did not allow her to go to the restroom, and interrogated her. One officer ordered, “Lock her in the confinement room and give her a hard time until she follows orders.”
Abuse in Detention: “If You Beat Her to Death, We'll Just Cremate Her”
Ms. Wang started to practice Falun Gong (also known as Falun Dafa) in 1997, and her health improved.
Since the communist regime started to persecute Falun Gong in July 1999, Ms. Wang has been repeatedly arrested and detained. She was held at a brainwashing center and a forced labor camp, where she was brutally beaten, force-fed, and subjected to brainwashing.
Guards at the Yunmeng County Detention Center ordered inmates to brutally beat Ms. Wang in 2002 and told them, “If you beat her to death, we'll just cremate her.”
Ms. Wang was arrested on November 5, 2012, for talking to the public about the persecution of Falun Gong. She was taken to the Yunmeng Detention Center. The police tried to send Ms. Wang to a forced labor camp, but were unsuccessful. Ms. Wang was released on November 21, 2012.
