A Sacred Encounter
(Minghui.org) I live in Anyang, Henan Province. I once lived without hope because I suffered from all sorts of illnesses: heart and kidney disease, rheumatoid arthritis, and gastroenteritis. I developed acute headaches that caused blurred vision. On top of all this, I was diagnosed with a brain tumor.
Surgery was arranged at the end of 1994 after six months of conservative treatment was deemed ineffective. I was really concerned about the outcome. Before surgery, I decided to visit my relatives one more time in my hometown of Changchun, Jilin Province.
One day in the fall of 1994, my son accompanied me on the train from Anyang to Changchun. The train was extremely crowded that day, and there were no seats. We stood in the aisle, hoping for a seat at the next stop. A kind-looking, tall young man came over, took me to his seat, and asked me to sit down. “It is alright, just sit down. The people across from us will get off at the next stop,” he said.
He sat down after a seat was open, and we chatted. “We are from the same hometown. I am from Changchun and have been to Anyang before. It is a good place,” he said with a smile.
I suddenly felt extremely drowsy and fell into a deep sleep. I must have slept past three stops. When I awoke, I was shocked to find that I had been leaning on his knees the whole time. I felt really bad and kept apologizing. “I am so sorry. I cannot believe I slept so soundly!”
“Don't worry. You are fine now,” he said.
When the train arrived at Qiqihar, the young man and his companions left, while I continued on to Changchun. When we arrived, I was still drowsy and slept for three days at my aunt's house. She said that I must have been very tired and was finally catching up on my sleep.
This was strange: after I met the young man in the train, I would sleep a lot. Two weeks later, I returned to my home in Anyang, still worried about my hospital stay and upcoming surgery.
I noticed that when I returned from Changchun, I no longer had painful headaches or blurred vision. I asked myself: Why should I have surgery when I did not have discomfort? Where happened to my headaches? I wondered about that and counted my blessings.
During the New Year's holiday in 1995, my neighbor brought me the book Zhuan Falun. “This is a precious book. After you read it, you will know everything,” she said.
When I opened the book, I was shocked to see the photo of the author and could not hold back my excitement. “I know him!” I said. “He was the kindhearted young man who gave me his seat!”
My neighbor exclaimed, “How fortunate you are! You have such a strong predestined relationship with Master Li Hongzhi and Dafa!”
After I finished reading Zhuan Falun, I understood everything! It was Master Li who put me into an anesthetic state, and took away my brain tumor on the train! I was the most fortunate person alive! How silly I was back, not giving it any thought.
The night I realized what I had encountered, Master instructed me in a dream. I went to the main assistance center, found the coordinator, and took home a complete set of Dafa books and materials.
With deep gratitude toward Master Li for his saving grace, I have completely immersed myself in self-cultivation in Falun Dafa.
