(Minghui.org) Police from Baoji City, Shaanxi Province illegally arrested over 20 Falun Gong practitioners for filing lawsuits against Jiang Zemin, the former Chinese Communist dictator, in early July 2015.

The practitioners have charged Jiang with launching the persecution of Falun Gong, as well as murder, torture, brainwashing and other criminal activities.

Police claimed that the practitioners are to “assist in the investigation” and have detained them at the Weibing Detention Center, Baoji City Detention Center and Jintai District Detention Center.

The arrests began after Baoji Post Office staff illegally held over 100 practitioners' letters of criminal complaint since June 16. They refused to provide mailing receipts under the pretext that it takes 16 business days to provide such a receipt.

Threatened by Postal Staff

Practitioner Ms. Wang Yuzhi mailed her criminal complaint against Jiang with the Baoji Post Office at the end of June. After inquiring several times about the status of her complaint, post office staff threatened to call the police if she inquired again.

Five policemen from the Weibin District Police Department broke into Ms. Wang’s home on July 7 when she was not at home. They showed a search warrant and ransacked her house, confiscating Falun Gong books and informational materials among other property. Ms. Wang was arrested upon her return home.

Background

In 1999, Jiang Zemin, as head of the Chinese Communist Party, overrode other Politburo standing committee members and launched the violent suppression of Falun Gong.

The persecution has led to the deaths of many Falun Gong practitioners in the past 16 years. More have been tortured for their belief and even killed for their organs. Jiang Zemin is directly responsible for the inception and continuation of the brutal persecution.

Under his personal direction, the Chinese Communist Party established an extralegal security organ, the “610 Office,” on June 10, 1999. The organization overrides police forces and the judicial system in carrying out Jiang's directive regarding Falun Gong: to ruin their reputations, cut off their financial resources, and destroy them physically.

Chinese law allows for citizens to be plaintiffs in criminal cases, and many practitioners are now exercising that right to file criminal complaints against the former dictator.
