(Minghui.org) A bank executive from Hohhot, Inner Mongolia, is suing former Chinese dictator Jiang Zemin for launching the persecution of Falun Gong that resulted in his three-year labor camp incarceration, during which time he was repeatedly shocked with multiple electric batons.

Mr. Yun Zhuyi was arrested a total of four times between 2002 and 2007. He was released the day after his first arrest in August 2002, only to be seized again two months later. He was given three years of forced labor after being kept in a detention center for six months.

The police transferred him to the labor camp the day after his son's birth. He did not get to see his boy until more than a year later, when his family was finally allowed to visit him. By then, his 8-year-old daughter could no longer recognize him.

While Mr. Yu was tortured in the labor camp, his wife struggled to support the family by herself. There was often not enough food on the table. Their son showed signs of malnutrition when he was born, and their daughter said that she often woke up hungry in the middle of the night.

His ordeal didn't end when he was released from the labor camp in late January 2005. He was arrested twice more, in 2006 and again in 2007. Each time, he was detained for about a month and saw his home ransacked.

Though he is now free, he and his family still live in fear every day, not knowing when the next arrest might take place. If he is late getting home, his wife and children start to worry about him.

Mr. Yun holds Jiang Zemin responsible for his torture and suffering, as well as his family's emotional distress. In his criminal complaint, he chronicled some of the torture he endured:

First Month in Labor Camp: Severe Beatings and Other Forms of Torture

As soon as I was taken to the forced labor camp on April 11, 2003, the guards instigated several drug abusers to beat me without restraint. One of them punched me so hard in the chest that I couldn't stand up straight. During the following week, I couldn't eat or drink.

A doctor at the camp examined me and said I was fine. Actually, my sternum had been fractured and bent inward (I had it examined in a hospital after I was released).

Although I couldn't stand up straight, they forced me to stand all day and all night. They deprived me of sleep and gave me only a single piece of steamed bun per day. They took turns monitoring me 24 hours a day, even in the restroom. They didn't let me close my eyes for a moment or talk to anyone else.

Several days later, my legs became dark purple and as hard as iron.

Shocked with Two Electric Batons for Refusing to Do Forced Labor

A month later, I was transferred to group 3 of the labor camp and order to do forced labor. I told them I would not do it because I was not a criminal.

The first night, a junior captain and an official took me to an isolated office and said they were going to "educate" me. The junior captain said, “Eradicating Falun Gong is a national policy. This is a forced labor camp. If you are here, it means you are guilty.”

Then they used two electric batons to shock me on my neck, arms, the arches of my feet, my thighs, and other sensitive areas. I hurt and was numb all over. My flesh was scorched. The pain was so bad I became incontinent. Blood, sweat, urine, and feces mixed together on the floor and got all over me. They still continued to shock me.

They later ordered a detainee to clean me and the floor. The detainee took me to the washroom, stripped my clothes off, and poured water all over my freshly-scorched skin. The pain was beyond words. Then he made me stand in an office until far into the night in just my underwear and a thin vest. It was wintertime.

Shocked with Four Electric Batons for Shouting “Falun Dafa Is Good”

A meeting was held to criticize Falun Gong in the labor camp yard in 2003. Practitioners who had been "transformed" by torture each had to read their "confessions" out loud. Several of us who refused to "transform" stood up and shouted, “Falun Dafa is good! Falun Dafa is righteous!”

The guards rushed at us, beat us down, handcuffed us, forced us to kneel, and made us lower our heads in the corridor.

At night, we were separated and each held in solitary confinement. Again I was forced to kneel down, face to the wall. They took off all my clothes from the waist up and took away my belt.

About seven guards started torturing me. Four of them wielded electric batons. The labor camp chief shouted, “I do not believe that I can't make you surrender. I must 'transform' you today!”

Two guards used a rope to bind my arms behind me, then tied the rope around my neck. I lost consciousness in just a few minutes.

When I came to, a doctor was listening to my heart and taking my blood pressure. I thought that he might help me because he was a doctor, so I said, “Please tell them to stop torturing me. I can't bear it anymore.” To my surprise, he turned to the guards and said, “No problem. You may continue.”

Then the four guards with electric batons began to shock me all over. I was in so much pain that I writhed on the floor. One of them grabbed me by my hair and stuck a towel in my mouth. I was scorched like a roasted duck. My scorched eyelids swelled up so that I couldn't open my eyes. My scorched lips swelled up like a banana. My face and neck were also swollen.

I was drenched in blood and sweat, and my clothes stuck to my injuries. My vest, underwear, and sweatpants were soaked with blood.

A guard kicked me in my legs and knees, which crippled me for a year.

Confined in a Solitary Cell and "Transformed"

After this, they confined me in a solitary cell and tried to force me to give up my belief. They handcuffed me to a chair with my hands behind my back. I couldn't sit or sleep. The bones in my arms felt like they were broken, and the pain was excruciating. They took turns monitoring me, and the camera in the cell was on 24 hours a day.

At night, they took me to an office, handcuffed me, and stood me in front of several guards with electric batons. They threatened me by turning on the batons and ordering me to write statements promising to give up my belief in Falun Gong.

One official in the health section of the labor camp said to me, “For people like you, we won't even bury you if we beat you to death. We will just take you out and feed you to the dogs.”

Recalling how I had been tortured before, I burst into tears and, against my will, promised to "transform." I was then confined in the solitary cell for several months, and later had two more months added to my forced labor sentence.

Shocked with Two Electric Batons for Refusing to "Confess"

In the labor camp in 2004, a 60-year-old practitioner was shocked with electric batons because he told the guards how he had benefited from Falun Gong. Over 10 practitioners–including me–went on a hunger strike to protest his mistreatment. The guards retaliated with a vengeance.

I was detained in a small office. A deputy chief ordered me to confess to my "crime." I told him the facts about Falun Gong and why I was not guilty. He shouted at me, “You are so eloquent! I have a lot of ways to make you confess!”

He then ordered a drug abuser to put a detainee's uniform on me. I refused to cooperate, so several drug abusers beat and kicked me.

Then they dragged me to a big office, tied me to a big pole, and stuck a towel in my mouth. Several guards hit my face repeatedly. Blood poured out of my nose and mouth. They also kicked and beat me mercilessly.

Two guards used electric batons to shock me on my neck, armpits, inner thighs, and genitals. They then confined me in a solitary cell for over 20 days.

Background

In 1999, Jiang Zemin, as head of the Chinese Communist Party, overrode other Politburo standing committee members and launched the violent suppression of Falun Gong.

The persecution has led to the deaths of many Falun Gong practitioners in the past 16 years. More have been tortured for their belief and even killed for their organs. Jiang Zemin is directly responsible for the inception and continuation of the brutal persecution.

Under his personal direction, the Chinese Communist Party established an extralegal security organ, the 610 Office, on June 10, 1999. The organization overrides police forces and the judicial system in carrying out Jiang's directive regarding Falun Gong: to ruin their reputations, cut off their financial resources, and destroy them physically.

Chinese law allows for citizens to be plaintiffs in criminal cases, and many practitioners are now exercising that right to file criminal complaints against the former dictator.
