(Minghui.org) Mr. Zhang Baojin was arrested on February 5, 2015, for putting up stickers to raise awareness about the persecution of Falun Dafa. Police in Rongcheng, Shandong Province, ransacked his home the next day and seized his printer, copy paper, and Falun Dafa books. The arrest was approved within 11 days.

The Rongcheng City Court tried Mr. Zhang on May 11, without informing his family. According to observers at the trial, Mr. Zhang said he was not guilty because the Chinese Constitution guarantees citizens freedom of belief. He told the court how he recovered his health after practicing Falun Dafa. The trial adjourned without a verdict.

Mr. Zhang's family did not know about the trial until they saw the online news report. They asked Judge Wang Li why the family was not informed about the trial, but were told, “It is not necessary to inform family members.” He also told the family that Mr. Zhang was sentenced to four years in prison, which prosecutors had decided before the trial.

Mr. Zhang's family's request to visit him was not approved; the police, court, and detention center passed the buck to prevent the family from seeing him. When the family visited the detention center on July 13, they were told that Mr. Zhang had been transferred to another, undisclosed location.

After calling multiple government departments and prisons to try to find him, his family discovered that Mr. Zhang was in the No. 11 Ward in the Shandong Provincial Prison.
