(Minghui.org) The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has persecuted Falun Gong for 16 years. It used fame and profit to encourage the Chinese law enforcement agencies to carry out its persecution. However, some police officers who know right from wrong have helped Falun Gong practitioners.

The Kindness of Deputy Police Chief Jiang

Some practitioners and I went to Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Gong in 1999 shortly after the onset of the persecution. I was arrested, held at a police station and transferred to the local police station in my hometown with other practitioners. Jiang was a deputy chief of police at that station.

The 610 Office appointed Jiang to keep an eye on me. He asked me to chat with him in his office. I talked to him about Falun Gong and how I had changed after I began to practice it.

He told me that he liked to listen to practitioners when they talked about Falun Gong. He never hit or bullied any practitioners, and we treated each other like friends.

The 610 Office took me to a detention center. Jiang visited me and told me not to worry about my family.

Then, local practitioners and I went again to Beijing to display Falun Gong banners. The 610 Office thought I was the organizer, and thus arrested me. After I went on a hunger strike, the head of the local 610 Office threatened to force-feed me.

On the fourth day of my arrest, Mr. Jiang visited me and brought personal items. Afterwards, the guards and inmates changed their attitude and treated me a little nicer. They allowed me to practice the Falun Gong exercises and kept my husband informed.

When I met Jiang again, he said he was supposed to work for the 610 Office, but someone else was assigned to the position because he had to go to Beijing to pick me up. I told him that he benefited because he treated practitioners well and thus he did not have to join that office.

He was a little confused and said that a guy he knew was promoted because he persecuted practitioners. I explained that everyone who persecuted believers in Buddha throughout history suffered retribution.

He was promoted to the chief position and was assigned to several police stations.

A Kind Policeman

Wang was an older officer who loved to listen to Falun Gong stories.

When he was forced to take my photo at the police station I refused to cooperate and passed out. I heard Wang shout my name. In the hospital, Wang told the other officers that I had not eaten any food for several days. Finally, the head of the police let me go home.

I went to Beijing again to display Falun Gong banners, and was arrested and held at a police station. I heard that Wang convinced the other officers to let me sleep in the bed at the police station, instead of on the floor.

When I was taken to a detention center Wang drove me. We talked and he said with tears in his eyes, “I feel sorry for you guys. You didn’t do anything to deserve such imprisonment.”

The detention center guards threw my bed cover and clothes all over the floor to see if I brought any Falun Gong books. Wang picked up the things from the floor, fixed them, and walked me to the door.

I saw him on television about six years later. He was chief of police and it was said that he did a lot of good things for the public and was a good officer.

I hope more policemen will treat practitioners well.
