(Minghui.org) 303 Falun Gong practitioners from Yi County, Liaoning Province have filed criminal complaints against Jiang Zemin between June 7 and August 19, 2015, according to reports compiled by the Minghui website.

The practitioners charge the former Chinese dictator with initiating the brutal suppression of Falun Gong and hold him responsible for the tremendous suffering inflicted upon them by his campaign. The criminal complaints were mailed to the Supreme People's Court and Supreme People's Procuratorate, and 96% of the practitioners have been notified of the receipt of their complaints by the Procuratorate.

Many of these practitioners recounted how Falun Gong returned them to health and gave them a new outlook on life. Their dream to live a healthier and happier life, however, was shattered when Jiang Zemin launched a nationwide campaign to eradicate the practice in 1999.

Simply for refusing to give up their belief, they were arrested, detained, tortured, and had their homes ransacked and personal belongings seized by the communist authorities. Many also saw their families implicated for their belief, while some were also forced to pay huge fines.

Selected Practitioner Complaints

Ms. Cui Guohua (崔国华)

Ms. Cui Guohua, in her 60s, was illegally arrested and detained six times, was sent to forced labor camps twice, and extorted 7,000 yuan in cash.

“I was taken to Masanjia Forced Labor Camp on August 6, 2008. A male guard named Liu Wei shocked me on my face, neck, hands, and arms with an electric baton,” Ms. Cui wrote in her complaint. “Later, they tied me between two bunk beds; my feet were tied to a bottom frame and my arms were stretched out and cuffed to the frame at the head of the bed. My back was bent forward and I could not move. They shocked my arms with electric batons until I almost passed out.”

Mr. Li Shijun (李世军)

Mr. Li Shijun, an excellent school teacher, was detained three times and sent to a forced labor camp for a year. He was allowed medical parole four months later. His home was searched and ransacked five times and his family was extorted over 18,000 yuan.

On the morning of June 20, 2008, police from the the “610 Office” in Jinzhou and local police broke into Mr. Li's home. They ransacked the place and took him to Jinzhou Forced Labor Camp for a year.

“I was forced to sit on a small stool and work 16 to 17 hours a day, packing disposable chopsticks. My blood pressure went up to over 200, and I developed a heart condition such that I had difficulty breathing. I was released on bail four months later. By then I could hardly walk and my complexion was pallid,” Mr. Li wrote in his complaint.

Ms. Huang Shulan (黄淑兰)

Ms. Huang Shulan, 78, recovered from her poor health by practicing Falun Gong.

When the persecution started, police continually harassed her family. Sometime between May and June in 2001, a group of police broke into her home and tried to take her away. She refused to go with them, so the police took her husband instead and detained him for over ten days at Yi County Detention Center. He was released only after police extorted over 1,000 yuan from her family.

Ms. Huang's husband became ill from extreme anger and fear, and passed away a few days after his release.

Mr. Wang Jungang (王俊刚)

Mr. Wang Jungang is 49 years old. He and his wife both practice Falun Gong and have benefited greatly from the practice.

During the persecution, his wife was twice arrested and sent to Masanjia Forced Labor Camp for two years.

“Our whole family was thrown into misery after my wife was taken away. As I cleaned up the mess after police ransacked our home, tears rolled down my face. My son was very scared and was crying... … My home was no longer like a home and my son lost his happy smile. His school work was badly affected, too. He used to be an excellent student but, because of what happened in our family, he could not even graduate from high school,” Mr. Wang wrote in his complaint.

“My wife became mentally disordered as a result of persecution at Masanjia Forced Labor Camp. For a long time after she came back home, she seldom talked and never smiled. It took two years before she regained her senses.”

Additional Cases

Ms. Pang Chunjie (庞春杰) is suing Jiang for persecuting a cultivation practice that turned her and her husband into better people. Three years ago a foreman working for her husband, then a project manager in charge of 26 laborers, stole all the money meant for paying workers. Unable to locate the foreman, she and her husband used their savings plus some loans to pay their workers. In Ms. Pang's words, "We wouldn't have done such a thing had we not practiced Falun Gong."

Ms. Meng Xiangli (孟项丽) was illegally arrested 11 times and was twice sent to Masanjia Forced Labor Camp. The police also extorted over 10,000 yuan from her family.

Ms. Luo Xiangyin (罗香银) is a school teacher. She was illegally arrested numerous times and had over 10,000 yuan extorted from her for appealing for justice for Falun Gong.

Background

In 1999, Jiang Zemin, as head of the Chinese Communist Party, overrode other Politburo standing committee members and launched the violent suppression of Falun Gong.

The persecution has led to the deaths of many Falun Gong practitioners in the past 16 years. More have been tortured for their belief and even killed for their organs. Jiang Zemin is directly responsible for the inception and continuation of the brutal persecution.

Under his personal direction, the Chinese Communist Party established an extralegal security organ, the “610 Office,” on June 10, 1999. The organization overrides police forces and the judicial system in carrying out Jiang's directive regarding Falun Gong: to ruin their reputations, cut off their financial resources, and destroy them physically.

Chinese law allows for citizens to be plaintiffs in criminal cases, and many practitioners are now exercising that right to file criminal complaints against the former dictator.
