(Minghui.org) Since May, hundreds of Falun Gong practitioners in my area have filed lawsuits against Jiang Zemin, the former Chinese dictator who launched the persecution of Falun Gong in 1999. Soon afterwards, agents from the 610 Office began to work with the local police to harass these practitioners who mailed out complaints.

The local practitioners told these police officers about the practice and the persecution. Many of the officers found out what really happened to the practitioners in the past 16 years.

The Story

Two young officers went to a practitioner's home this August, asking whether she had sued Jiang. The practitioner acknowledged it and invited the two officers into her home. She made them a pot of good quality tea, and the officers were surprised by her hospitality.

The practitioner simply told them that they were her guests, and it was something she'd do for any guest on a hot summer day.

When an officer asked her why she sued Jiang, she told them that Jiang singlehandedly initiated the persecution and viciously slandered the practice and its founder.

“Master Li told us to be good people and nothing's wrong with that. All my illnesses disappeared after I picked up the practice. The government needs to redress the practice and give us back the right to practice,” said the practitioner.

The officer asked if she had medical insurance and whether she saw a doctor when she got sick. The practitioner told him that she never had health insurance.

“Before I was a practitioner, I didn't have a job to cover my health insurance. I had severe stomach pains and frequent skin rashes, but there was nothing I could do about it because treatment was expensive and I was poor. This began a vicious cycle where I couldn't work because of my health, and I couldn't afford the see the doctor unless I worked. Life was a living hell for me. After I practiced Falun Gong, all my ailments were gone, and now I don't need health insurance anymore,” she said.

The officer listened attentively and asked if she'd been practicing Falun Gong the whole time during the persecution.

The practitioner admitted frankly, “Why not? It's such a wonderful practice and I won't give up such a precious thing.”

The officer looked at the practitioner and said, “My grandfather has trouble with his legs and couldn't walk well. The hospital couldn't do much to help him. Falun Gong is such a great practice. When I go home, I will persuade my to grandfather practice it. Thank you so much for telling me about it.”

Background

In 1999, Jiang Zemin, as head of the Chinese Communist Party, overrode other Politburo standing committee members and launched the violent suppression of Falun Gong.

The persecution has led to the deaths of many Falun Gong practitioners in the past 16 years. More have been tortured for their belief and even killed for their organs. Jiang Zemin is directly responsible for the inception and continuation of the brutal persecution.

Under his personal direction, the Chinese Communist Party established an extralegal security organ, the “610 Office,” on June 10, 1999. The organization overrides police forces and the judicial system in carrying out Jiang's directive regarding Falun Gong: to ruin their reputations, cut off their financial resources, and destroy them physically.

Chinese law allows for citizens to be plaintiffs in criminal cases, and many practitioners are now exercising that right to file criminal complaints against the former dictator.
