Migraines and Personal Grievances Disappear: A Taiwanese Graduate Student’s Cultivation Sharing

(Minghui.org) I am 24 years old and began to cultivate Falun Dafa in 2015. Although it has been a relatively short time, I have greatly benefited from the practice.

Family Tribulations

I suffered from migraine headaches ever since junior high school. It happened very frequently. Sometimes I was in so much pain that I couldn't walk straight. My mom took me to different hospitals, but no cause was found.

I felt I was such a burden to my mom. My headaches cost her so much money and time.

I did not like confrontation, so I just endured whenever I ran into a conflict. However, I became so angry in my heart that my blood pressure rose and with it a bad headache.

Falun Dafa Enters My Family's Life

We met a Chinese medicine doctor who was also a Falun Dafa practitioner. She introduced Falun Dafa and Shen Yun to us.

My entire family watched the Shen Yun show in 2014 and 2015. My older brother was the first one who started to read Zhuan Falun, the main book of Falun Dafa. He highly recommended that I read the book, and put many Falun Dafa books on my desk.

I started to read Zhuan Falun, and it took me two months to read the entire book. I felt that it was well written.

During the 2015 Shen Yun show, I felt dizzy and sleepy. As soon as the curtain rose, my tears flowed, and in the depths of my heart I knew that I wanted to cultivate.

I then read everything on the main Falun Dafa website. I learned the five exercises and then went to the local practice site to have my movements corrected by fellow practitioners.

Taking a Step Back During Difficulties

Slowly, I got to know Falun Dafa on a deeper level and learned how to face conflicts. I also learned to ask myself: where have I gone wrong? Was it because I was self-absorbed?

Three months into the practice my migraines suddenly lessened. Sometimes I still did not feel well, but I looked within to see where I should improve. I studied Zhuan Falun or did the exercises and my pain disappeared.

I was studying for my master’s degree. Even though I was very busy, I still found time to participate in the “Experience Truthfulness-Compassion -Forbearance Camp” as a coordinator.

Many young practitioners were there. We were sharing cultivation stories, playing games, learning hand signs, photography, and acting. We studied and exercised together.

On the second day, a group of us got up at five o’clock in the morning to do the exercises. It was a peaceful atmosphere. Whenever we encountered issues amongst us, everyone looked within.

A non-practitioner friend told me once that it’s not good for my health to forbear. I told her I disagreed, and that the forbearance we practice is to take a step back when encountering conflicts, and that such forbearance is not forced.

Although sometimes I still blamed others in the face of conflicts, and thought that I did not do anything wrong, I realized that that heart of mine was acting from an attachment of some sort. The conflict disappeared when I let go of the attachment.

Harmonious Family Life

My older brother, my younger sister, and I practice Falun Dafa. We try to live by the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.

My sister has changed the most. She used to be very rebellious and had a very bad temper. She exploded whenever things did not go her way. Our parents could not do anything about it. They used to say that she would be taught her lessons by society.

Although my sister still complained here and there when encountering conflicts, she did not curse like before. She persevered no matter how difficult it was when she was doing the exercises

All of us keep improving and my parents know that Falun Dafa is good!
