(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 13 cities or counties in 8 provinces. According to this report, 6 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 12 were illegally arrested.

Li Jin, Party secretary of Moujia Village, Huajiatun Town, Jinzhou District, and other people went to Ms. Yu Liying's home on October 10, 2016. They demanded that Ms. Yu, age 70, sign a statement to give up practicing Falun Gong.
Later, the Huajiatun Town Government personnel located Ms. Yu's non-practitioner son, and pressured him to sign guarantee statements.

2. [Guan County, Shandong Province] Mr. Du Hongnian Detained
Mr. Du Hongnian from Xiaoguozhai Village, Qingshui Town, was arrested at home by officers from the Qingshui Town Police Station on October 8, 2016. He was taken to the Liaocheng City Detention Center.

3. [Huangchuan County, Henan Province] Ms. Yang Jinying Detained
Ms. Yang Jinying, 72, from Huangsigang Town, Huangsigang Township, was detained for 15 days and fined 1,000 yuan on May 3, 2009 for distributing Shen Yun DVDs. The police ransacked her home and confiscated three DVDs of Falun Dafa lectures, a Falun Gong exercise DVD, 23 Shen Yun DVDs, and a booklet with Falun Gong facts.
4. [Jiaozhou City, Shandong Province] Three Practitioners Arrested
Mr. Lu Guorao, about 70, from Siqian Village, Jiaoxi Town, was arrested on October 10, 2016.
Mr. Zhang Congjie, 58, and his wife Ms. Cui Xiumei were arrested on the same day at home in Xiguanzhuang Village. The police ransacked their home and confiscated a computer, Falun Gong books, and 20,000 yuan. Ms. Cui returned home around noon the following day.
5. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Chen Caiyun and Mr. Zhang Zhengyue Arrested
Ms. Chen Caiyun and Mr. Zhang Zhengyue were arrested by officers from the Xiangfang Police Station for distributing Internet censorship circumvention software on the evening of October 10, 2016.
6. [Pingdu City, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Meifang Arrested
Ms. Liu Meifang was arrested at home on October 10, 2016.
7. [Laizhou City, Shandong Province] Mr. Guo Wancai Arrested
Mr. Guo Wancai was arrested at home at noon on October 9, 2016.
8. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Xiong Guoyuan Given a Three-year Prison Term
Staff from the Qingshan District Court broke into Ms. Xiong Guoyuan's home and brought a verdict, which stated that Ms. Xiong, 73, was sentenced to three years in prison. They took Ms. Xiong from her home. Her whereabouts are unknown.
Ms. Xiong was arrested by officials from the Qingshan District Court at the end of July 2016. She was held in the Beihu Brainwashing Center for eight days. While she was there she was poisoned. As a result, after she returned home, she experienced burning pain all over her body.
9. [Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Yang Hunan and Wife Ms. Cui Juan Held in Custody Over Seven Months
Mr. Yang Hunan and his wife Ms. Cui Juan were arrested on March 13, 2016. The couple were tried on the afternoon of July 18, 2016 at the Xiangcheng District Court. So far, the court has not announced its decision. The couple has been held in the Suzhou City No. 4 Detention Center for over seven months.

10. [Mengyin County, Shandong Province] Ms. Meng Xianglan and Ms. Meng Xiangling Detained
Ms. Meng Xianglan and Ms. Meng Xiangling are being held in the Mengyin County Detention Center.
11. [Qingyuan City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Fang Lifen and Ms. Fang Xi Arrested
Ms. Fang Lifen from Qingcheng District was arrested by twelve police officers at her own clothing shop on September 29, 2016. Her younger sister Ms. Fang Xi in the countryside was also arrested on the same day.

12. [Nanning, Guangxi Province] Mr. Liao Wenchuang Facing Trial
Mr. Liao Wenchuang, 44, has been indicted for distributing information about the persecution of Falun Gong. He was arrested on February 19, 2016 and had his home ransacked the next day.
He wrote a letter to the local procuratorate requesting no-indictment as he broke no law by exercising his constitutional right to freedom of belief. The authorities proceeded to charge him and informed him that a trial will take place in late November.
This is not the first time that Mr. Liao has been targeted for his faith. He was twice sentenced to prison for a total of 7 years. His wife divorced him and his mother became mentally disoriented and died in an accident.
13. [Chongqing] Mr. Zhang Jun Facing Trial
Mr. Zhang Jun was arrested on May 24, 2016 for talking to people about Falun Gong in Tiaoshi Town, Banan District. His home was ransacked.
Mr. Zhang was first detained in Yutong Detention Center and then transferred to the Banan Detection Center on June 7. His case was sent to the Banan District Procuratorate on June 17. He is facing trial. The trial date is at the end of October.
Mr. Zhang, 38, was abandoned by his parents and raised by his uncle. He began practicing Falun Gong less than a year ago.
