(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 12 cities or counties in 8 provinces. According to this report, 5 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 14 were illegally arrested.

Ms. Cui Shifang from Fengshou Village, Qingling Town was reported to the authorities for giving out Falun Gong calendars on November 14, 2016. She was arrested by officers from the Qingling Town Police Station. Her home was ransacked and Falun Gong books and informational materials were confiscated. Ms. Cui is held in the Jilin City Detention Center.

2. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Four Practitioners Sentenced to Prison
Four practitioners from Heishan County were sentenced to prison on October 26, 2016. Mr. Ma Liguang was sentenced to six months in prison, Mr. Kou Deying and Mr. Zhang Yaodong to nine months each and Mr. Zhang Yingdong to four-and-a-half-years.
3. [Tongren City, Guizhou Province] Ms. Huang Fadi Taken to Brainwashing Center
Ms. Huang Fadi from Wanshan District was arrested by officers from the Bijiang District Domestic Security Division, the Wanshan District Domestic Security Division and the Xieqiao Police Station on November 22, 2016, for suing Jiang Zemin, former head of the communist regime, who initiated the persecution of Falun Gong. She was taken to the Brainwashing Center located in Wanshan No. 16 Middle School.

Ms. Jiang Yueshu was arrested on October 26, 2016. She is held in the Yanji City Detention Center.
5. [Deyang City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Chen Shangping and Ms. Kou Juan Detained
Ms. Chen Shangping and Ms. Kou Juan from Mianzhu City were arrested at Ms. Chen's home by officers from the Shifang Police Station and the Mianzhu Police Station on the afternoon of November 15, 2016. Their homes were ransacked. Both practitioners are held in the Dongshan Detention Center.
6. [Anda City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Pei Yuqin and Mr. Sheng Yanqin Detained
Ms. Pei Yuqin and Mr. Sheng Yanqin were arrested by officers from the Taipingzhuang Town Police Station on the morning of November 24, 2016, for talking to people about Falun Gong. Both practitioners were held in the Anda City Detention Center for 10 days.

Ms. Xue Guorui from Liuerjin Village, Taihe Town, Heishan County, was arrested at home on the afternoon of November 23, 2016. Her home was ransacked and Falun Gong books were confiscated. She was taken to the Heishan County Police Department.

Ms. Yuan Guihua and Ms. Zhu Fengcai from Jianshan District were arrested by officers from the Zhongxin Police Department on the afternoon of November 23, 2016, for talking to people about Falun Gong. Their homes were ransacked.

Mr. Jin Yunfeng from Songji Township in Xiping County was arrested at home by officers from the Songji Township Police Station on November 23, 2016. He is held in the Xiping County Detention Center.

Ms. Wang Hui from Anlu City was arrested by officers from the Anlu City 610 Office on November 21, 2016. She was taken to the Chengdonghuisuo Brainwashing Center.

11. [Anshan City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Zhao Yonghua Detained
Mr. Zhao Yonghua from Xiuyan County was arrested by officers from the Xiuyan County Domestic Security Division on November 8, 2016, for distributing Falun Gong calendars. His home was ransacked and all of his Falun Gong books were confiscated. He is held in the Xiuyan County Detention Center.
12. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Yu Fengzhu Passed Away Due to Persecution
Ms. Yu Fengzhu passed away on October 20, 2015, at the age of 65 as a result of the persecution. She was arrested, imprisoned, threatened and tortured until her mental and physical health deteriorated.
After she was released from prison, Ms. Yu was forced to became destitute for two years. Her health worsened—she became blind in one eye and one side of her body was paralyzed.
Ms. Yu filed a lawsuit against Jiang Zemin with the Chinese Supreme Procuratorate and the Supreme Court in June 2015. She was constantly harassed and threatened by the local police, the neighborhood officials, and the residential community staff until she passed away.
13. [Beijing] Mr. Li Caihua Arrested
Mr. Li Caihua was arrested by plainclothes officers on October 20, 2016, for posting Falun Gong informational stickers. He was released on bail the following day.
