(Minghui.org) A total of 3,408 citizens from Suining City, Sichuan Province, have supported Falun Gong practitioners in their efforts to bring Jiang Zemin, the former Chinese dictator, to justice since late May 2015.

Apart from the criminal complaints filed by Falun Gong practitioners and their families, Chinese citizens have signed petitions in support of the lawsuits, and also directly contacted the Supreme People's Court of China.

Portions from recently-signed complaint forms against Jiang.

Practitioners from Suining City have used multiple approaches to spread information about the lawsuits, including face-to-face talks, phone calls, fliers, posters, and banners.

People's attitudes have changed from initial shock to respect, to signing petitions to express their support for the lawsuits.

One elderly man said after signing his name, “Jiang is an evil and vicious dictator, as well as a human rights violator. Falun Gong has not cowed down, but has persistently up-held and spread the facts about the cultivation practice and its persecution. I am proud of you!”

An elementary pupil said he wanted to sign too, because his grandmother had been severely persecuted. He then called his mother and asked her to also sign the form.

One practitioner's husband was previously opposed his wife practicing Falun Dafa. He feared that she would be harassed by the authorities again. After she filed the lawsuit, he said he understood the reason for the lawsuit and expressed his support. When the local police made phone calls to his family inquiring about the lawsuit, he courageously told them to stop harassing his family.

Background

In 1999, Jiang Zemin, as head of the Chinese Communist Party, overrode other Politburo standing committee members and launched the violent suppression of Falun Gong.

The persecution has led to the deaths of many Falun Gong practitioners over the past 16 years. More have been tortured for their belief and even killed for their organs. Jiang Zemin is directly responsible for the inception and continuation of the brutal persecution.

Under his personal direction, the Chinese Communist Party established an extralegal security organ, the “610 Office,” on June 10, 1999. The organization overrides police forces and the judicial system in carrying out Jiang's directive regarding Falun Gong: to ruin their reputations, cut off their financial resources, and destroy them physically.

Chinese law now allows for citizens to be plaintiffs in criminal cases, and many practitioners are exercising that right to file criminal complaints against the former dictator.
