Falun Gong Gave Me a Beautiful Life, But Persecution Took It Away
(Minghui.org) I had been disabled since birth. My hands and feet were not flexible, and my mouth and eyes tilted to one side. I drooled all the time and walked with a limp. No one liked to play with me when I was growing up, and I was mocked and ridiculed.
My dream to live like a normal person came true in 1996, when I began practicing Falun Gong. However, my beautiful new life was shattered when the Chinese communist regime launched the persecution of Falun Gong three years later.
Villagers Amazed at My Transformation
After reading the book Zhuan Falun, I understood that if I wanted a healthy body, I needed to follow Falun Gong principles of “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance” in my life.
I began doing the exercises every day, and living by the principles. My eyes, hands, and feet soon began working normally, and my limp disappeared. I also looked prettier than before.
My temperament also changed. Instead of shunning the crowd, I began to enjoy talking to people. What a happy feeling! I sincerely thank Master Li Hongzhi, the founder of Falun Gong, from the bottom of my heart!
When I returned home to see my parents, some people from the village almost didn't recognize me. I told them that I had gained a healthy body because I practiced Falun Gong. As a result, some of the fellow villagers also started to practice Falun Gong.
Family Torn Apart After Persecution Began in 1999
After the persecution began in 1999, the authorities numerous times harassed my family, ransacked my home, and confiscated my Falun Gong books.
My husband was threatened by the local police because of my belief. He died a few months later.
My son was not allowed to join the army because I didn't give up my belief in Falun Gong. He was overcome with despair and began a downward spiral in life. He committed a crime, for which he was later sentenced.
My mother-in-law couldn't bear the huge stress and frequent harassment by police and passed away. The persecution has caused great disaster to my family.
