(Minghui.org) In January this year, 485 Beijing and Tianjin residents signed petitions to support the lawsuit against Jiang Zemin, the former head of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) who launched and directed the persecution against Falun Gong.

Since then, 1,203 Tianjin residents have filed their own criminal complaints against Jiang, and 1,107 have signed petitions to support lawsuits against Jiang brought by others. Thus, the total number of individuals seeking justice for Falun Gong to date this year in Tianjin is 2,310.

Since May 2015, more than 208,000 people from all over China have filed criminal complaints against Jiang Zemin with China's Supreme People's Court and Supreme People's Procuratorate.

This is believed to be the largest lawsuit in history, and it will have a profound impact in China and around the world. The significance of this lawsuit serves as a warning for future generations that persecuting people for their beliefs will bring disastrous results.

The CCP has suppressed Falun Gong for 17 years. The following are some brief stories told by practitioners, recounting how people have responded when asked to sign petitions in support of suing Jiang Zemin:

A practitioner visited a family who already knew that Falun Gong was a good practice. When he mentioned the petition to sue Jiang, the head of the household said that Jiang should have been arrested long time ago. The man signed his name and asked his wife to do the same. The wife asked the husband to sign for her, but he said that each person was responsible for his or herself. So the wife signed her name on the petition as well.

When asked to sign the petition, many people comment on the corruption all around Jiang. They also point out how his leadership has led to so many corrupt officials, and that they too should be arrested.

A bystander saw several policemen following a practitioner who was collecting signatures at a market. The man told the practitioner that he was being followed, so the practitioner turned around and talked to the policemen about the petition—and a few of them even signed.

Many people respond favorably to the lawsuit against Jiang. Some practitioners have shouted, “Let's sue Jiang” at the market, to which some people responded, “Let's sue Jiang! Come forward quickly if you want to sue Jiang!”

Such actions have led more and more people in coming forward to sign the petitions.
