Minghui.org) 45 Falun Gong practitioners from Anshan City are confirmed to have been sentenced to prison for their faith in recent years.
Among them, 12 were sentenced 10 or more years, and 7 to 5 to 10 years. Of those sentenced and incarcerated, 24 are women and 21 are men. While imprisoned, they have been severely tortured. Below are some of the cases.
Mr. Gao Mingxing
Mr. Gao Mingxing was arrested by the Dandong City police on August 1, 2007, for intercepting television signals to broadcast Falun Gong informational programs in February and August 2004. He was sentenced to 12 years in 2008 and taken to Panjin Prison.
In prison, he was tied to a bed for two months for protesting with hunger strikes. As a result, his legs became paralyzed. He was also locked in a confinement room and was shocked with electric batons. He was transferred to the Shenyang City First Prison in May 2012 and tortured. Due to the brutal torture, nearly all his teeth were knocked out. He is now in grave condition.
Ms. Xing Dan
Ms. Xing Dan was arrested by Duilu Police Station officers in the Tiedong District on July 21, 2014. She was sentenced to 5 years on January 23, 2015, and has been imprisoned in the Liaoning Province Women's Prison.
Ms. Xing went on hunger strikes for a long time to protest the persecution and had organ failure. The prison notified her family that her life was in great danger but refused to let her family bail her out for medical treatment.
Ms. Chen Shang
Ms. Chen Shang was arrested in Anshan City on August 21, 2008, for helping to intercept TV signals twice in 2004. She was sentenced to 10 years by the Dengta Court in Liaoyang City and has been held in the Liaoning Province Women’s Prison since February 2009.
In prison, she was forced to sleep on the floor in the winter. Because the guards encouraged the prisoners to brutally beat her, she became crippled and nearly lost her eyesight. She was also not allowed to go to the restroom for over 50 hours and wet her pants.
Ms. Qiu Sihui
Ms. Qiu Sihui and her husband Mr. Liu Qiang were arrested on August 20, 2008. Ms. Qiu was sentenced to 12 and a half years and taken to the Liaoning Province Women's Prison. She became paralyzed as a result of torture, and it is very difficult for her to eat, urinate, or have a bowel movement. She is in great pain.
Ms. Yong Fang
Ms. Yong Fang was arrested on October 25, 2012, and sentenced to nine years by the Tiedong District Court. She was imprisoned in the Liaoning Province Women's Prison.
As a result of being tortured, she has high blood pressure and gallstones and had a stroke. She was sent to the 739 Hospital for emergency treatment, and the hospital issued a critically ill notification to her family.
Ms. Sun Jinjun
Ms. Sun Jinjun was arrested and her home was ransacked by officers from the Yongle Police Station in Anshan City on July 21, 2014. While she was detained, the police frightened her, and she developed symptoms of psychosis.
Despite her condition, she was sentenced to three years in the Tiexi Court on December 26, 2015, and is imprisoned in the Liaoning Province Women’s Prison. Ms. Sun still has not recovered.
