(Minghui.org) More Falun Gong practitioners inside and outside of China have filed criminal complaints against Jiang Zemin, the former Chinese Communist Party leader who initiated the persecution of Falun Gong.

Thousands of people, including officials from throughout China, have shown sympathy towards practitioners. Many have petitioned for an investigation into the crimes committed by Jiang.

A national conference was held on April 25, 2016, during which participants emphasized Chinese citizens' fundamental right to freedom of religious belief, as provided by China's constitution.

An official from the provincial government went to a county a month later to learn more about the criminal complaints filed against Jiang Zemin by Falun Gong practitioners.

It is important to note that the persecution of Falun Gong has been particularly severe in this coastal province since the regime's campaign began in 1999.

To cooperate with the investigation, the county's police department and 610 Office arrested some Falun Gong practitioners who had filed complaints against Jiang under their real names.

During the meeting, the county police officers and the agents from the 610 Office berated practitioners. However, the practitioners were unaffected and told the official how they had benefited from practicing Falun Gong and how they were persecuted because of their beliefs.

Once the police officers and agents from the 610 Office left, the official invited the practitioners for dinner. He told the practitioners that he was sympathetic towards Falun Gong and knew about the persecution they suffered.

Detention Center Guard: “Why did you send an innocent person here?”

A Falun Gong practitioner was arrested in May 2016 for filing a criminal complaint against Jiang Zemin.

Police took the practitioner to the local detention center. When the guard found out that the officers had arrested a Falun Gong practitioner, he told them, “Falun Gong practitioners are good people. She doesn't belong here. You'd better let her go.”

The officer demanded that she be accepted. The guard refused to detain her, stating that she had “high blood pressure.”

“Only you dare to tell the truth”

A 70 year old man accepted a flyer about the persecution.

“I admire Falun Gong practitioners the most,” he said. “Only you dare to tell the truth. I always believed that the Tiananmen Square self-immolation incident was a hoax. There are practitioners all over the world. How come the self-immolation happened only in China?”

He continued, “We've been lied to by the Party for so many years. Falun Gong was framed by Communist Party for sure. If you have more materials, please give them to me. I want to read them all.”

He told me that he was from Beidaihe District. A practitioner gave him an informational handout in a market. He wanted to give the practitioner money, but it was too crowded and not safe to do so.

“But I followed them,” he said, “and wanted to give them 100 yuan for making more materials. They didn't take the money. They are really selfless.”

Background

In 1999, Jiang Zemin, as head of the Chinese Communist Party, overrode other Politburo standing committee members and launched the violent suppression of Falun Gong.

The persecution has led to the deaths of many Falun Gong practitioners in the past 16 years. More have been tortured for their belief and even killed for their organs. Jiang Zemin is directly responsible for the inception and continuation of the brutal persecution.

Under his personal direction, the Chinese Communist Party established an extralegal security organ, the “610 Office,” on June 10, 1999. The organization overrides police forces and the judicial system in carrying out Jiang's directive regarding Falun Gong: to ruin their reputations, cut off their financial resources, and destroy them physically.

Chinese law allows for citizens to be plaintiffs in criminal cases, and many practitioners are now exercising that right to file criminal complaints against the former dictator.
