(Minghui.org) Ms. Zhou Rong, a Falun Gong practitioner from Kaijiang County, Dazhou City, Sichuan Province, was arrested at a railway station security checkpoint and was illegally sentenced to one and a half years in prison in early May 2016.

Arrested and Home Ransacked

Ms. Zhou and her non-practitioner husband were on their way to visit their daughter in Chengdu on July 25, 2015. When they were passing through the security checkpoint at the Dazhou Railway Station, Ms. Zhou's ID triggered the Kaijiang County Domestic Security Division's blacklist indicator.

Security officers confiscated her laptop, paper currency with printed Falun Gong information, a flash drive containing a draft of a document about suing former Chinese dictator Jiang Zemin, as well as Falun Gong books and an MP4 player.

Ms. Zhou and her husband were immediately detained and transferred to the Kaijiang County Domestic Security Division. Her husband was released the following day.

The Kaijiang County Procuratorate approved her arrest on August 8. On the afternoon of August 10, director Hu Hao and political instructor Tan Tianwen of the Kaijiang County Domestic Security Division, policeman Tang Lei from the Dongcheng Police Station and chairwoman Xi Chuzhu from the Binhe Community of Xinning Town ransacked Ms. Zhou's home. They then went to Ms. Zhou's daughter's home in Chengdu on August 27. However, they didn't find any “evidence” to use against Ms. Zhou at either home.

Tried and Sentenced to Prison

At the end of September, the Domestic Security Division fabricated evidence to submit to the Kaijiang County Procuratorate, which the Procuratorate returned. They then made some changes to the materials and resubmitted them to the Procuratorate in January 2016.

On March 23, 2016, the Kaijiang Court transferred Ms. Zhou to the Dazhou Municipal Court for trial in an attempt to avoid public attention. In early May, the court officials announced a verdict at the Dazhou Municipal Detention Center where Ms. Zhou was held, sentencing her to one and a half years in prison.

Repeatedly Persecuted

This is the third time that Ms. Zhou has suffered direct persecution. The first time was in June 2005 when personnel from the 610 Office of Kaijiang County and the County Federation of Supply and Marketing Cooperatives attempted to forcibly take her to the Dazhou City Brainwashing Center. She managed to escape and had to stay away from home to avoid further persecution.

The second incident was on December 8, 2006, when personnel from the Kaijiang County Domestic Security Division ransacked her home and found a copy of Minghui Weekly. She was imprisoned at the Nanmusi Women's Labor Camp in Zizhong County for one and a half years.

City 610 Office Persecutes Practitioners on Blacklist

It was recently reported that in early May 2016, the 610 Office of Dazhou City ordered the subordinate 610 Offices of the five counties and two districts in their jurisdicion to modify the blacklist at the Dazhou Railway Station security checkpoint to include all suspected Falun Gong practitioners. In the past, the blacklist only included a few key practitioners.

Anyone on the list will trigger an alarm when they pass through the checkpoint. Several practitioners have recently been searched. One was illegally detained for four hours simply because he had some Falun Gong content on his cell phone.
