(Minghui.org) Chaoyang City Intermediate Court recently upheld the 12-year prison sentence of Ms. Jiang Wei for filing a criminal complaint against former Chinese dictator Jiang Zemin.

Ms. Jiang had been repeatedly targeted for her faith in Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline based on the principle of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. She was given 3 years of forced labor in 2001 and sentenced to 8 years in prison in 2004.

She holds Jiang responsible for her past lengthy incarceration, only to be arrested last November and sentenced to 12 years this year.

Her younger daughter wrote the following open letter to express her pain upon learning of her mother’s sentencing.

My name is Cui Xinxin, and I live in Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province.

One month before my wedding, a group of officers broke into the home that my older sister, our mother, and I shared, as we were sleeping.

My sister and I found mother’s criminal complaint against Jiang Zemin while cleaning up the mess left by the police. We read that mother was accusing Jiang of initiating the persecution of Falun Gong that resulted in her imprisonment, lost business and broken family.

We visited mother in April this year and were heartbroken to see a plastic tube dangling out of her nose. She had started a 30-day hunger strike to protest the illegal detention, and was being force fed on a regular basis.

We felt helpless upon learning of mother’s 12-year-sentence and the higher court’s decision.

How many 12 years does a person have in her life? Our mother had already spent 9 years incarcerated for her faith in the past. Her once successful hotel was also shut down.

We had a happy family once, but everything was shattered after the persecution of Falun Gong began in 1999. Our father divorced our mother in 2002, when my sister and I were still very young.

The police also took my sister into custody when they arrested our mother again in 2004. They hung my sister up in their attempt to extract information about our mother. My sister wasn’t released until months later.

She was not even 18 at the time. Upon her release, our father’s new wife wouldn’t take her, and she ended up being adopted by a relative.

My life with our father’s new family was like walking on eggshells. I missed my sister and mother each and every day.

Finally mother returned home on June 27, 2012, and the three women in our family reunited.

But that happiness didn’t last long. The police arrested our mother one month before the biggest day of my life.

My wedding went on as planned, but without the presence of my parents. My father had stopped contact with us after my sister and I grew up.

My sister and I can’t understand why mother has to pay such a dear price for simply striving to be a good person by following Falun Gong’s principle of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. She always taught us to be kind and considerate. We don’t see anything wrong with that.

Who can help us get our mother home? Mother, we miss you and we want you home!
