(Minghui.org) Ms. Jiao Cuiyun, 63, was sentenced to three and a half years in Xinxiang Prison on December 19, 2014 for practicing Falun Gong. She is made to do hard labor for long hours every day and not given enough food. Meanwhile, the guards try to force her to give up her belief.
Officers from the Qingfeng County Domestic Security Division and Chengzhen Police Station jumped over the wall into Ms. Jiao's yard and broke down her front door on August 12, 2014. They confiscated her Falun Gong books, an MP3 player containing Falun Gong information, and materials related to the practice.
Ms. Jiao was not home at the time. Officers threatened her husband and said that the family would be implicated if she was not found.
Her husband forced her to go to the county Domestic Security Division, where she was arrested.
Her arrest was approved by the Procuratorate on September 15, 2014. She was held in the Puyang City Detention Center before being sentenced.
Ms. Jiao used to suffer from hyperplasia of the breast. She sought treatment at local hospitals and in Beijing, but nothing helped. Her two children were still young, and she needed to support them and her husband's elderly parents. She was under great emotional and financial pressure.
She started to practice Falun Gong during the second half of 1998. Her illnesses soon disappeared without further treatment.
Ms. Jiao brought her 80-year-old paralyzed mother to her home and took care of her to lessen the financial burden on her siblings.
