Preschool Teacher Denied Medical Parole, Facing Trial for Her Faith

March 11, 2017 |   By a Minghui correspondent in Liaoning Province, China

(Minghui.org) A preschool teacher in Chaoyang County has been suffering from high blood pressure since her arrest months ago, but she has been denied medical parole and is now facing trial.

Ms. Li Guixia, 52, was arrested on September 30, 2016 while talking to people about Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline being persecuted by the Chinese communist regime. The local procuratorate issued a formal arrest warrant.

A mandatory health examination indicated that Ms. Li had dangerously high blood pressure, but the local police still managed to persuade the detention center to admit her.

The detention center guards didn’t allow Ms. Li to do the Falun Gong exercises, which she credited for curing her breast cancer years ago. The guards also forced her to sleep on a wooden board on the floor without any bedding or cover. No one was allowed to offer her clothes or a comforter. At one point, Ms. Li was held down and force-fed unknown drugs.

Ms. Li’s high blood pressure persisted in her detention of several months.

The local procuratorate has recently indicted her for her faith and forwarded her case to the court.
