(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioners An Lianyu and Kan Hongxia from Tanbu Township, Mengyin County, Shandong Province, were arrested for putting up posters. After three months of detention, they were released on February 14, 2017.

The two practitioners had placed the posters in Gaozhuang Township in Yishui County. The posters had information about how to file legal complaints with the Supreme Procuratorate and the Supreme Court against Jiang Zemin, the CCP leader who initiated the persecution of Falun Gong.

Someone reported them and a government agent came. He began to beat the practitioners as soon as he got out of his car. He called more agents over to join in the beating, which continued until officers from the Gaozhuang Police Station came to take pictures.

The police then took the practitioners to the police station. The chief said he would let them go the next morning, but instead he took them to Yishui Hospital for a physical examination, and then took them to the Yishui Detention Center. They were held there for 14 days since their arrest on October 30, 2016.

On the fourteenth day, police came and took them to the Linyi City Detention Center. On the way, they asked the officers where they were going. The police answered: “To have you executed.”

At the detention center, the chief of the police station told them that they would be released in three days. But at the end of the three days, he added another seven days to the detention. This happened repeatedly.

Their family members went to the police station several times and urged the police to release the practitioners. The police gave various excuses for continuing to detain them.

The two practitioners' arrests were officially registered almost a month after their actual arrest, on November 25, 2016, and they were detained until they were released on February 14, 2017.
