(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 13 cities or counties in 6 provinces. According to this report, 14 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 16 were illegally arrested.

Mr. Li Shihai from Pingdu City was sentenced to two years on January 24, 2017. Ms. Zhang Xiumei was sentenced to three years. She has appealed the sentence.
2. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Three Practitioners Detained Past Term
Ms. Dai Cuihua, Ms. Li Huandi, and Ms. Yu Guiyun of Caidian District were held at the Erzhigou Detention Center in Dongxihu. They served their full terms by March 8, 2017. They continue to held at the Wuhan City No. 1 Detention Center.
3. [Fuyang City, Anhui Province] Ms. Li Xiuyou Arrested
Ms. Li Xiuyou was recently arrested.
4. [Chongqing] Ms. Peng Chengfang Arrested and Abused
Ms. Peng Chengfang of Luohuang Town, Jiangjin District was arrested at home on the afternoon of January 23, 2017. Led by Mou Zhaoheng from the Jiangjin Police Department, officers broke into her home, ransacked the place, confiscated over forty Falun Gong books, computers, printers, Falun Gong materials and equipment. They took Ms. Peng to the Luohuang Police Station, handcuffed her, and interrogated her for the source of materials. They struck her head until it bled. Ms. Peng was taken to the Jiangjin Detention Center that afternoon. She was subjected to a physical exam, strip searched, and given a 15-day detention.
After she was released on February 9, police ordered Ms. Peng's family to monitor her and not allow her to leave home. They repeatedly called and threatened her family.
5. [Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province] Ms. Zhang Xiuying's Family Repeatedly Harassed
Ms. Zhang Xiuying from Taiyuan City was arrested at her child's home in Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province on November 27, 2015 by officers from the Shangtang Police Station of Baoan Police Department of Shenzhen City Police Department. She was detained for 10 days.
Three agents from the Minzhi Neighborhood Office, Longhua New District, Shenzhen City went to her child's home for a “re-visit” on August 15, 2016.
An agent from the Minzhi Neighborhood Office called Ms. Zhang's husband on the morning of March 7, 2017, and tried to get him to monitor her.

6. [Zhaoyuan City, Shandong Province] Update on Six Practitioners' Arrest
Six practitioners, Ms. Chi Tongxin, Ms. Chi Tongyun, Ms. Bu Guizhen, Mr. Qin Baoxiang, Ms. Lu Xiuqin, and Mr. Wang Junhua, were arrested on the morning of March 7, 2016 by officers from the Zhaoyuan City Domestic Security Division and 610 Office. They were held at the Daqinjia Town Police Station overnight, then subjected to a physical exam in the Linglong Town Clinic. Ms. Chi Tongyun and Mr. Qin Baoxiang were released for health issue. The others were held at the Zhaoyuan Detention Center.

7. [Huaihua City, Hunan Province] Three Practitioners Arrested
Ms. Xiang Ziju, Ms. Wu Tao, and Ms. Li Wenjun were arrested on the afternoon of March 8, 2017 while they were talking to people about Falun Gong. Police interrogated them at the Chengzhong Police Station and confiscated more than 1,000 yuan in cash. Ms. Xiang and Ms. Wu were taken to a detention center that night. Ms. Li was released.
8. [Zaozhuang City, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhang Rong Arrested
Mr. Zhang Rong was arrested at home on March 7, 2017. Police ransacked his home.
9. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Cai Rufen Detained
Ms. Cai Rufen from Wuchang District was arrested at the end of February, 2017 by officers from the Liyuan Police Station in the Hongshan District. She is held at the Wuhan City No. 1 Detention Center.
10. [Shenzhen City, Hebei Province] Two Practitioners Arrested
Ms. Wen Xian from Dechao Village, Chenshi Town, and Mr. Daming from Baishu Village were arrested for talking to people about Falun Gong. Police confiscated printers and other items from their homes.
11. [Shanghai] Four Practitioners Arrested
Four practitioners were arrested on March 3, 2017 by officers from the Xuhui District Domestic Security Division. Two practitioners, Ms. Xu Longqin and Ms. Zhao Shuping were from Meilong No. 10 Village, Xuhui District. The other two were from Minghang District. One of them was Ms. Cui Xiying. Ms. Cui was released on March 4. Ms. Xu was admitted to Xuhui District Detention Center on March 4 and taken to the Shanghai City Brainwashing Center on March 8.

12. [Tianjin] Ms. Xie Guifen and Ms. Chen Xiuxiang Detained
Ms. Xie Guifen and Ms. Chen Xiuxiang from Yuelong Town, Ninghe District were arrested on March 9, 2017 by plainclothes officers from the Yuelong Town Police Station when they were talking to people about Falun Gong in the Yuelong Town Flea Market. It was said that they were detained for 10 days.

13. [Laixi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Shulian and Ms. Zhang Chunlan Detained
Ms. Li Shulian and Ms. Zhang Chunlan were arrested on March 9, 2017 by officers from the Shuiji Police Station when they were looking for an apartment in Yuehu neighborhood. They are held at the Shuiji Police Station.
14. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Liu Defu Suffering Severe Health Issues
Mr. Liu Defu was arrested on November 14, 2016 by officers from the Danan Police Station. His health has deteriorated in detention. He is held at the 242 Hospital even though he suffers myocardial infarction, cerebral infarction, bleeding in the brain, neck injury and has difficulty walking. Mr. Liu's case is being handled by the Second Office, Shende District Procuratorate.
