Toronto: Dafa Practitioners Participate in Total Health 2017
(Minghui.org) Total Health 2017, one of the largest natural health shows in Canada, took place in Toronto from April 21 to 23. Falun Dafa (also known as Falun Gong) practitioners participated in the event and provided information about this traditional Chinese meditation practice.
Launched in 1987, this year marks the 40th anniversary of the Total Health Expo, and the 2017 event attracted more that 200 vendors and about 20,000 visitors.
Rashi and his wife, originally from India, have lived for many years in both Europe and North America. They have tried yoga and many other health systems. Watching the gentle Falun Gong exercises, Rashi told a practitioner that he would like to learn them. “I like the energy field here,” he said.
Ann Jackson and her friends stopped at the practitioners' booth and talked with a practitioner for a long time. She was very excited after hearing about the results of a survey in China conducted before the suppression occurred in 1999, in which 98% of people benefited from the meditation. She asked for information about group practice sites in Toronto and planned to follow up with learning the practice.
Gerash from Iran had heard about the suppression in China, but did not know the reason for it. A practitioner explained to him how the communist party mistreats people in China. After talking further, Gerash thanked him and said he would do an internet search to learn more.
Sue had heard about Falun Dafa in Chinatown previously and knew that the communist party persecuted Dafa practitioners, including forcibly harvesting their organs for transplant surgeries. She was impressed by the popularity of Falun Dafa worldwide, where it is embraced in over 100 countries, and said that she would check out the Falundafa.org website.
Jonathan, from Vancouver, owns a jewelry business. “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance are important because they are universal values,” he said to a practitioner.
After learning the exercises at the practitioners' booth, Jonathan said he felt very drawn to the meditation system. “This is what I have been looking for,” he said.
