(Minghui.org) Mr. Zhao Yu, 80, from Bairin Left Banner, Inner Mongolia, was arrested on April 22, 2017, after seeking the release of his daughter and son-in-law from police custody.

Mr. Zhao Yu, his wife, four daughters, two son-in-laws, and grandchildren all practice Falun Gong. After the persecution began in 1999, his family suffered greatly. Several family members have been repeatedly arrested and jailed. His wife, Zhang Guizhi, experienced extreme mental duress and passed away on February 11, 2017.

He relied on his children for daily assistance, and on the morning of April 21, 2017, his daughter Zhao Chunxia and son-in-law Jia Bin were arrested by three officers from the Bairin Left Banner Domestic Security Division. They forcibly entered and ransacked Mr. Zhao's home without a search warrant.

Mr. Zhao went to the police station on April 24 to request that his daughter and son-in-law be released. He was told to come back the following day at 8:30 a.m. When he returned, an officer told him that they would take him to a hospital for a physical examination, and if he was healthy, he would be sent back home.

But he was directly sent to a detention center after the examination, where he was searched, photographed, and forced to place his fingerprints on an unidentified document.

His family was not notified of his arrest. And when he was released three days later, on April 28, the police instructed a stranger from a nearby shop to drive Mr. Zhao to his daughter's home.
