(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 14 cities or counties in 9 provinces. According to this report, 8 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 10 were illegally arrested.

Ms. Wang Yanzhi, 60, was taken to the Shandong Women's Prison on May 4, 2017. Ms. Wang suffered from severe pneumonia and pleurisy due to persecution.

2. [Zhoukou City, Henan Province] Several Practitioners Taken to Prison
Mr. Qiao Zhenhua was given a seven-and-a-half year prison term. He was taken to the Mi County Prison, Zhengzhou City.
Mr. Zhang Wei and Ms. Zhang Yunhui were each given a three-and-a-half year prison term. Ms. Meng Li was given a three year prison term. The three practitioners have been taken to the Xinxiang Prison.
Mr. Zhang Dong was released. Ms. Kong Aiping was sentenced to three years in prison, with three years of probation. Ms. Li Chunmei was sentenced to four years in prison and she will serve the term outside of the prison. Ms. Zhang Siying was given a two year prison term and released on medical parole.
3. [Beijing] Ms. Liu Liping Placed Under Administrative Detention
Ms. Liu Liping and her non-practitioner husband from Yilan City, Heilongjiang Province, were arrested at the Harbin East Railway Station, by officers from the Zhanqian Domestic Security Division, for carrying the Falun Gong book Zhuan Falun, on the afternoon of May 5, 2017. They were on their way to visit their son, who lives in Beijing. The officers ransacked their home early the next morning and confiscated about eight copies of Zhuan Falun. Ms. Liu was placed under administrative detention for 15 days in the Harbin City Detention Center. Her husband returned home on the afternoon of May 6.

Mr. Sun Li and Ms. Wang Yaxin were arrested by officers from the Da'an Town Police Station on May 7, 2017 for talking to people about Falun Gong at the Da'an Town Farmers Market, Yutian County. Both practitioners are held in the police department.

Ms. Yang Aizhi from Fengqishan Community, Qingquan Town, was arrested at home on the morning of April 25, 2017. She has been held in a detention center.
6. [Anshan City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhang Naijun Detained
Ms. Zhang Naijun from Lishan District was reported for posting Falun Gong materials on the afternoon of April 7, 2017. She was arrested by officers from the Xingsheng Police Station, Tiexi District. She is held in the Anshan City No. 1 Detention Center.

7. [Chongqing] Ms. Liu Hongmei Arrested
Ms. Liu Hongmei was arrested at the Caiyuanba Train Station after security guards identified her as a Falun Gong practitioner on May 6, 2017. Officers from the Shiqiaopu Police Station ransacked her home.
8. [Tianjin] Ms. Liu Huiqing Arrested
Ms. Liu Huiqing from Binhai New Area was reported for talking to people about Falun Gong on the afternoon of May 7, 2017. She was arrested and taken to the Shengli Police Station, Dagang District.

Mr. Li Qing was arrested around April 20, 2017. The police ransacked his home and confiscated all his Falun Gong books and photos of the founder of Falun Gong. It was reported on May 5, that he is held in the Yongji County Detention Center.

Ms. Wu Saifang, 53, from Tianhe District was arrested by officers from the Chebei Police Station on the evening of May 2, 2017 for distributing Falun Gong materials. She was taken to the Tianhe District Detention Center the following morning.
