(Minghui.org) Several Falun Gong practitioners in Huludao City, Liaoning Province, were arrested this month for filing criminal complaints against Jiang Zemin. Jiang is the former head of the communist regime, who launched and directed the persecution against Falun Gong.

About seven officers from a Longgang District police station entered Ms. Jin Hong's home on June 6, 2017. They asked if she had filed a complaint to China's Supreme People's Court against Jiang Zemin, and produced a search warrant. They arrested Ms. Jin and detained her in the Huludao Detention Center for three days.

Officers from the Shuanglong Police Station in the Longgang District arrested Ms. Bao Hao on June 15. Local practitioners immediately publicized the matter, along with the phone number of the police station, on the Internet.

Falun Gong practitioners, domestic and abroad, made phone calls to the police station and demanded that they release Ms. Bao. The police were surprised by the practitioners' quick response and effectiveness.

According to the police, not only practitioners from outside China called them, but practitioners from other cities and provinces within China also called. Thanks to their concerted effort, Ms. Bao was released that night.

Also on June 15, police arrested practitioners Ms. Yang Lichun and Ms. Zhao Lijun.

This round of arrests was different from how police normally ransack homes and take practitioners away. This time, the police showed their identification cards, presented search warrants, and left the family an “items list” of anything they took from the home, and a “summons letter.” The family also received a “detention notification” within 24 hours of the arrest. The police also make video recordings of the process. Every step appeared to be following the law – except for the arrests themselves, as every Chinese citizen has the legal right to file criminal complaints against someone who has wronged them, and the practitioners, therefore, were acting within the law in filing the complaints.

Other practitioners recently arrested include Ms. Li Suqing, Ms. Zhang Rongzhi, Ms. Cao Liyan, Ms. Lu Xiuzhi, Ms. Zhao Shulan, Ms. Wei Chi, and Ms. Cheng Yue.

Background

In 1999, Jiang Zemin, as head of the CCP, overrode other members of the Politburo Standing Committee and launched the violent suppression of Falun Gong.

The persecution has led to the deaths of many Falun Gong practitioners over the past 18 years. More have been tortured for their belief and even killed for their organs. Jiang Zemin is directly responsible for the inception and continuation of the brutal persecution.

Under his personal direction, the Communist regime established an extralegal security organization, the 610 Office, on June 10, 1999. This organization overrides police forces and the judicial system in carrying out Jiang's directive regarding Falun Gong: to ruin their reputations, cut off their financial resources, and destroy them physically.

Chinese law allows its citizens to be plaintiffs in criminal cases, and many practitioners are now exercising that right to file criminal complaints against the former dictator.
