(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 16 cities or counties in 10 provinces. According to this report, 5 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 19 were illegally arrested.

1. [Shanghai] Ms. Zhou Meijiuan Detained
Ms. Zhou Meijuan from the Jiading District was arrested on July 11, 2017, when police broke into her home. They ransacked the place and confiscated a printer, computer, and Falun Gong books.
Ms. Zhou is being held in the Jiading District Detention Center.

2. [Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Mr. Chi Hailong and Ms. Wang Yulan Sentenced to Prison
Mr. Chi Hailong from Bairin Left Banner was sentenced to a five-year prison term. He was taken to the Chifeng No. 4 Prison.
Ms. Wang Yulan from Bairin Left Banner was sentenced to a three-year prison term. She was taken to the Hohhot Women's Prison.
3. [Xilinhot City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Ms. Song Xiaohua and Mr. Mi Chao Arrested
Ms. Song Xiaohua and Mr. Mi Chao were arrested on July 13, 2017.
4. [Baishan City, Jilin Province] Ms. Pan Linfeng and Her Husband Mr. Li Wenming Detained
Ms. Pan Linfeng from Quanyang Town was arrested at work by officers from the Fusong Domestic Security Division on July 6, 2017. When the officers were ransacking her home, her husband Mr. Li Wenming, who does not practice Falun Gong, refused to cooperate. He was also taken to the police department.
Ms. Pan was held in the Baishan Detention Center for 15 days. Her husband was held in the Fusong Detention Center for ten days.
5. [Yanzhou City, Shandong Province] Ms. Cui Xiying Detained
Ms. Cui Xiying was arrested by the Yanzhou Train Station police officers on June 27, 2017, for talking to people about Falun Gong. Her home was ransacked.
Ms. Cui was officially placed under arrest and was held in the Jining Detention Center.
6. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Xingju Arrested
Ms. Wang Xingju was reported to the authorities for talking to people about Falun Gong at the Wutai Station in the Laishan District. She was arrested in mid-July 2017.
7. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Du Shanying Arrested
Ms. Du Shanying was recently arrested for talking to people about Falun Gong.
8. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Chen Yonghui Arrested
Ms. Chen Yonghui was arrested by officers from the Baiyun Police Department on July 15, 2017, and was taken to the Huangshi Police Station.
9. [Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Luo Chunrong and Ms. Xiong Meiying Taken to Prison
The Xinjian District Court upheld Ms. Xiong Meiying's original sentence of a three-and-a-half-year prison term on June 26, 2017. She was taken to the Jiangxi Province Women's Prison.
The same court upheld Ms. Luo Chunrong's original sentence of a two-year prison term. She was also taken to the Jiangxi Women's Prison.
10. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Yang Fengxia Placed In Criminal Detention
Ms. Yang Fengxia was arrested by officers from the South Station Police Station, Zhangjiakou City Economic Development Zone, on the afternoon of July 14, 2017. She was placed in criminal detention and is being held in the Zhangjiakou Detention Center.

11. [Hengshui City, Hebei Province] Three Practitioners Arrested
Officers from the Chengguan Town Police Station went to Ms. Cheng Qiaoran's home in Houzhuang Village and arrested her on the afternoon of July 4, 2017. Ms. Yu Ying and Ms. Zun, who happened to be there, were also arrested. The officers confiscated Falun Gong books and 5,000 yuan in cash.
The three practitioners were taken to the Anping County Police Department, and were later released.
12. [Pingdingshan City, Henan Province] Mr. Lu Shejiao Detained
Mr. Lu Shejiao from Ruzhou City was arrested in November 2016 for filing a criminal complaint against former Chinese Communist Party leader Jiang Zemin.
Mr. Lu is being held in the Ruzhou City Detention Center.

13. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Wang Hanhua Arrested
Ms. Wang Hanhua from Xinji Town, in the Jiujiejie area of the Xinzhou District, was arrested by officers from the Jiujie Police Station and staff from the local village committee on July 13, 2017. Her whereabouts are unknown.
14. [Chenzhou City, Hunan Province] Mr. Li Zhanxian Detained
Mr. Li Zhanxian was arrested on the afternoon of July 11, 2017, for talking to people about Falun Gong. He was detained for ten days.
15. [Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Caifeng and Her Family Arrested
Officers from the Nanta Police Department went to Ms. Wang Caifeng's home on the evening of July 14, 2017. They tricked her into opening the door, by claiming that they had come to check the water meter. When she open the door they burst in and arrested her.
When Ms. Wang's husband and son tried to stop the officers from taking her away but they were also arrested.
Ms. Wang's husband was released the following morning for failing the physical exam. Ms. Wang was taken to a detention center. Their son's whereabouts are unknown.

16. [Feng County, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Li Baoyu Detained
Officers from the Longkou Police Station and personnel from the Fengzhou Town Government went to Ms. Li Baoyu's home and arrested her on the morning of July 11, 2017. She was taken to the Wulimiao Detention Center, Baoji City, for ten days of detention.
