(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Lin Baozhen from Pudong New Area in Shanghai is facing prosecution after the police submitted her case to the local procuratorate on June 27, 2017.

Ms. Lin and Ms. Ling Wenjian were arrested at the subway station exit on Jufeng Road by officers from the Pudong Police Department on April 24, 2017.

They were forced into a police vehicle and body searched without a warrant. Their cash, prepaid phone cards and cell phones were confiscated. Both women were then taken to the Pudong New Area Detention Center.

Ms. Lin's home was ransacked the next day.

Ms. Ling was released on May 23, 2017, while Ms. Lin's arrest was approved by the procuratorate and her case submitted in June.

According to the police, Ms. Lin was arrested for distributing informational materials about Falun Gong. Her previous arrests were also used as criminal records against her.

Ms. Lin's attorney and family members have recently filed a complaint against the police for abuse of power, violating human rights, and illegally searching, arresting and detaining her without a warrant.

Previous Persecution

Before practicing Falun Gong, Ms. Lin had a tense relationship with her mother-in-law and was not in contact with her. After she took up the practice, she followed the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance and took the initiative to repair her relationship with her mother-in-law.

Ms. Lin has been repeatedly persecuted for her belief. She was arrested on August 20, 2001, and sentenced to four years and six months in prison.

She has arrested again on October 14, 2016, and detained for 15 days.
