The Latvia Falun Dafa experience sharing conference was successfully held in Riga, the capital city, on February 12, 2000.
About 50 people attended the conference. Almost all of them were local Russian people. I was the only foreigner. They had a deep understanding of Falun Dafa. The most touching story was that in 1998 when they just learned Falun Dafa, 15 Russian practitioners shared only one copy of Russian "Zhuan Falun". They could only study together. One of them read, while others listened. In order to learn more, they met five times a week to study "Zhuan Falun". They had studied like this for half a year. Later, in order to be able to learn more at home by themselves, two representatives paid a long trip to St. Petersburg and found the practice site there so that they were able to get more instruction materials. Since then, practitioners in Riga could learn Falun Dafa at their homes. Now there are Russian Videotapes and Cassette tapes. Every one has a copy of book. Practitioners treasure the books and pictures of Teacher Li very much.
What is happening in China has also influenced this country with a population of only 2 million. Because the Chinese Embassy spread the Chinese government's propaganda against Falun Dafa, even some Russian practitioners were interrogated by local police officers. Local newspapers and TVs also picked up some of China's propaganda against the facts. However, none of the practitioners have given up Falun Dafa because of that, and they hope that more people with predestined relationship will learn Falun Dafa.
