(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 15 cities or counties in 10 provinces. According to this report, 7 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 14 were illegally arrested.

1. [Shanghai] Female Practitioner Arrested
A female practitioner was reported for talking to people about Falun Gong in the Carrefour Gongjiang Store in Shanghai on the morning of June 3, 2017. She was arrested by several police officers at the store's entrance. Her whereabouts are unknown.

2. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhang Wenlong and Wife Ms. Xu Qiulan Arrested
Mr. Zhang Wenlong and his wife Ms. Xu Qiulan were arrested on May 12, 2017. Ms. Xu was officially placed under arrest on May 26. Mr. Zhang was released on May 27.
3. [Shouguang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Dong Lifang and Ms. Han Guomei Arrested
Ms. Dong Lifang was arrested and detained for 15 days at the Weifang Detention Center. The police ransacked her home and confiscated photos of the founder of Falun Gong, Falun Gong books, and materials. She has returned home.
Several officers from the Shouguang City Domestic Security Division's 610 Office and the Tianma Police Station broke into Ms. Han's home and ransacked it on May 9, 2017. They confiscated a book of the teachings of Falun Gong, an audio player, a printer, a computer, and photos of the founder of Falun Gong. Ms. Han was taken to the police station but was released that evening.
4. [Xinzhou City, Shanxi Province] Ms. Zhang Chunlei and Her Sister Ms. Zhang Zelei Placed In Criminal Detention
Li Linshuang, Liu Changyong, and other officers from the Xinzhou City Police Department's Domestic Security Division went to Ms. Zhang Chunlei's home and arrested her and her child on the morning of June 1, 2017. The officers ransacked her home and her workplace that afternoon. They confiscated over 40 blank envelopes, a pack of printer paper, about nine DVDs, a few pendants, two bottles of ink, two notebook computers, Falun Gong books, and photos of the founder of Falun Gong.
Ms. Zhang Chunlei and her sister Ms. Zhang Zelei were placed in criminal detention on the evening of June 2, 2017. Both practitioners are held in the Xinzhou City Detention Center.

5. [Zhengding County, Hebei Province] Ms. Bai Yujing Detained
Ms. Bai Yujing from Xibaitang Village, Chengguan Town, was arrested at home by officers from the Shijiazhuang City Police Department on the afternoon of June 2, 2017. She was handcuffed and taken to the Shijiazhuang City Detention Center. No family visits were allowed.
6. [Xinyang City, Henan Province] Mr. Si Deli Given a Three-Year-and-Three-Month Prison Term
Mr. Si Deli was given a three-year-and-three-month prison term and fined 4,000 yuan.
7. [Qiyang County, Hunan Province] Ms. Wen Weixiang Arrested
Ms. Wen Weixiang was arrested at home by six plainclothes officers from the Qiliqiao Town Police Station on the morning of June 4, 2017. It is not known where she is being held

8. [Liaoyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Di Shaoqun Given a One Year and Ten Month Prison Term
Ms. Di Shaoqun was sentenced to one year and ten months in prison on May 31, 2017.
9. [Baoji City, Shaanxi Province] Mr. Qiang Mengsheng Given a Five Year Prison Term
Mr. Qiang Mengsheng was sentenced to five years in prison at the end of May 2017.
10. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Sun Yanning and Ms. Wang Limei Detained
Ms. Sun Yanning, an employee at the Zhaoyuan County Urban Management Bureau, was arrested at work on the afternoon of May 31, 2017. She was taken to the Domestic Secretary Division. Ge Xiangyu, head of the Domestic Security Division, forced her to take photos and sign paperwork. She was taken to a detention center for 15 days of detention.
Ms. Wang Limei, from Sanhe Village, Toutai Town, Zhaoyuan County, was arrested by officers from the Toutai Police Station on the afternoon of June 1, 2017. She was taken to the Zhaoyuan Detention Center for five days of detention.
11. [Guangzhou, Guangdong Province] Mr. Zhi Yusheng Still Detained
Mr. Zhi Yusheng remains detained following his arrest on November 15, 2016 for sending out text messages exposing the persecution of Falun Gong.
His case now rests with the Shunde Procuratorate, and he faces being placed on trial for his faith.
Mr. Zhi's wife struggles to support their four children, ages 2 to 7, as well as his elderly parents.
12. [Tianjin] Mr. Li Shaochen Tried
Mr. Li Shaochen was tried on June 1, 2017 for refusing to renounce Falun Gong.
The presiding judge initially turned down the defense lawyer's request to have his client's shackles removed, but he relented upon the lawyer's protest and after consulting with the chief bailiff.
Mr. Li denied the allegations against him, and his lawyer also defended his constitutional right to freedom of belief.
The judge adjourned the session without issuing a verdict. Mr. Li, 73, remains detained at the Hongqiao District Detention Center.
13. [Yingkou City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Liu Yuzuo Sentenced
Ms. Liu Yuzou was arrested on June 28, 2016 and she has been held at the Yingkou Detention Center.
Ms. Liu was tried in the Zhanqian District Court on the morning of February 25, 2017. She was sentenced to four years’ imprisonment with a fine of 10,000 yuan on April 26, 2017. Ms. Liu has filed an appeal.
14. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] The Case of Ms. Sun Shiying and Her Son and Daughter Sent to Procuratorate
Ms. Sun Shiying and her son and daughter were arrested on March 6, 2017 because they took in Ms. Lu Yongzhen from Liaoyuan City who had been imprisoned for nine years. Officers ransacked their home and found informational materials about Falun Gong. The Kuancheng District Procuratorate approved the arrest on April 13.
Ms. Sun’s lawyer met her on May 10, 2017 and mailed complaint letters to relevant departments, suing the department in charge with violating legal procedures while handling Ms. Sun’s family’s case.
When the Kuancheng District Procuratorate returned Ms. Sun’s family’s case to the Kuancheng District Police Department, the police department filed the case to the Changchun City Procuratorate.
The Changchun City Procuratorate transferred the case back to the Chaoyang District Procuratorate's prosecution office on June 2, which has jurisdiction over Ms. Sun’s residential area.
15. [Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Lu Xiuyun Arrested
Ms. Lu Xiuyun was reported to police while she talked to a student about Falun Gong in Jiamusi Forestry Park on the afternoon of June 4, 2017. Two officers went to the park and took her away.
Ms. Lu’s family searched everywhere for her but do not know where she is being held.
