(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 10 cities or counties in 9 provinces, where at least 20 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
1. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Yu Chunli and Mr. Wang Guihui Sentenced
2. [Liaocheng City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhu Yu’e Detained
3. [Ezhou City, Hubei Province] Mr. Huang Guangyi’s Children Harassed
4. [Baotou City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Three Practitioners Face Trial
5. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Jinghua Sentenced
6. [Fangzheng County, Heilongjiang Province] Four Practitioners Face Indictment
7. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Multiple Practitioners Harassed
8. [Hanzhong City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Zhang Fenglian Detained
9. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Li Lanshen Harassed
10. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Dai Qin Detained
11. [Zhengzhou City, Henan Province] Ms. Zhang Guilan Harassed
1. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Yu Chunli and Mr. Wang Guihui Sentenced
Ms. Yu Chunli and Mr. Wang Guohui live in the Jihongtan area. They were sentenced on the morning of October 18, 2023. Ms. Yu was sentenced to four years and eight months in prison. Mr. Wang was sentenced to four years and four months in prison and fined 20,000 yuan. Both practitioners said they would appeal.
2. [Liaocheng City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhu Yu’e Detained
Ms. Zhu Yu’e lives in the Chiping District. She talked to villagers about the persecution of Falun Gong in Fengtun Town on the morning of October 30, 2023. A village committee member reported her to the police. She was arrested by officers from the Fengtun Town Police Station. She is held in the Liaocheng City Detention Center.
3. [Ezhou City, Hubei Province] Mr. Huang Guangyi’s Children Harassed
Officers from the Gedian Police Station called Ms. Huang Guangyi’s oldest son and second oldest son on October 19 and 23, 2023. The officers threatened them and ordered them to report to the police station, where officers would take their blood samples.
4. [Baotou City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Three Practitioners Face Trial
Ms. Wang Ying, Ms. Zhang Ruitong, and Ms. Meng Lili were indicted by the Donghe District Procuratorate on September 28, 2023.
Ms. Wang and Ms. Zhang are being held in the Donghe District Detention Center. Ms. Meng is being held in the Guchengwan Detention Center.
5. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Jinghua Sentenced
Ms. Li Jinghua, 78, lives in Nanding Town, Zhangdian District. She was arrested and taken to the Zibo Detention Center around September 26, 2023 by police who picked the lock and broke into her home. She was tried by the Zhangdian Court on the afternoon of October 12, 2023. She was sentenced to three years in prison. She was told she would be tried on the afternoon of October 26.
6. [Fangzheng County, Heilongjiang Province] Four Practitioners Face Indictment
Ms. Qiu Yuqin from Yilan County, was arrested in her daughter’s home in Chengdu City, Sichuan Province in mid-September 2023.
Three practitioners from Deshan Township, Fangzheng County, including Ms. Zhao Jinlan, were also arrested.
The four practitioners’ cases are in the Yilan County Procuratorate.
7. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Multiple Practitioners Harassed
Ms. Qiu Liying, Ms. Hong Mei, Ms. Wang Jinxia, Ms. Feng Zhimian, and others from the Gaoxin District, got harassing calls from the Sifang Police Station deputy director Wang Zhangjun on October 20, 2023. Wang ordered the practitioners to report to the police station, where officers would photograph them and connect to their WeChat accounts. The practitioners refused to comply.
8. [Hanzhong City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Zhang Fenglian Detained
More than 10 practitioners were arrested at Ms. Zhang Fenglian’s home in the early hours of October 22, 2023, by more 20 Domestic Security Division officers and SWAT officers who came equipped with loaded military weapons. Ten practitioners were released in turn after 11:00 p.m. except for Ms. Zhang. She is still being held and interrogated by police.
9. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Li Lanshen Harassed
Ms. Li Lanshen got a call from officer Zhang Xingjie from the Xing’an Police Station around October 19, 2023. The officer ordered her to report to the station where she would be photographed.
10. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Dai Qin Detained
Ms. Dai Qin, 70, lives in Dafangshen Community in the Luyuan District. She was arrested and taken to the Xinglongshan Detention Center by officers from the Domestic Security Division on October 15, 2023.
11. [Zhengzhou City, Henan Province] Ms. Zhang Guilan Harassed
Ms. Zhang Guilan, in her 80s, lives in Zhongmou County. She was summoned to the Zhongyuan District Court on the morning of October 24, 2023. She was asked if she still practiced Falun Gong and she was threatened with being put on trial soon.
